Oscar Mingueza has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, and multiple clubs are keen on securing his signature.

He is a reliable defender, and he can help out going forward as well.

Mingueza is at the peak of his career, and Arsenal are one of the biggest teams in the world right now. They could provide him with the opportunity to fight for trophies.

Although Marco Silva has players like Timothy Castagne and Kenny Tete at his disposal, Mingueza would be an upgrade. Additionally, the 26-year-old Spaniard can play as a centre-back, making him an appealing target for Fulham.

At Aston Villa, he will be able to compete at a high level as well. They are pushing for UEFA Champions League qualification this season, and they have a quality team at their disposal. They also have a top-class manager like Unai Emery. The Spanish defender could be attracted to the idea of working with him at the West Midlands club.

Sess option triggered

The Club is pleased to confirm that the option has been triggered in Ryan Sessegnon's contract to extend his time at Fulham.

Our Academy graduate's deal will now run until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Last year, Sessegnon took his goal involvement tally to 50+ for the Club, while he has been an integral part of the team this term, too, featuring in all but seven of our 33 Premier League fixtures played so far.

"Of course, it's the Club that I've always wanted to be at," Sess told FFCtv. "I'm very comfortable at this Club, I'm happy with how it's going, last season and now this season as well, and I just want to finish the season strongly."

Tony Khan added: "I am thrilled to announce that Ryan Sessegnon's contract option has been triggered, and that he will extend his time here at Fulham for at least another year.

Fulham confirm Sessegnon's contract extension
Fulham have confirmed they have taken up an option to extend Ryan Sessegnon's contract by a year.

Sessegnon's deal at Craven Cottage will now run until the end of next season.

He rejoined the club in 2024 after leaving Tottenham on a free transfer and has featured in 26 Premier League games for Marco Silva's side this season.

The contracts of Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez expire this summer. The club remain in talks with both players.

Ryan Sessegnon signs new Fulham contract as left-back commits future
Cottagers are still in discussions with two key figures

Ryan Sessegnon has signed a contract extension at Fulham, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Sessegnon's contract had been due to expire this summer, but Fulham have triggered the option to extend his deal until the end of next season.

The former England youth international returned to Fulham in July 2024 after five injury-hit years at Tottenham and has made 52 appearances in all competitions across the last two seasons.

The 25-year-old has produced two goals and three assists in 26 Premier League appearances this season.

After initially struggling for fitness, Sessegnon has carved out a place for himself in Marco Silva's side, providing cover for left-back Antonee Robinson, who has also battled with injury issues over the last 18 months.

News of Sessegnon's extension comes as Fulham continue to negotiate new deals with Harry Wilson and Silva, who are both out of contract this summer.

Silva, who publicly criticised the club for their lack of activity in the transfer window last summer, has remained coy about his future, while Wilson is said to be considering his options.

Fulham have endured a mixed campaign, but could still break their points record for a single Premier League season if they take a minimum of 10 points from their final four games.

On his contract extension, Sessegnon told FFCtv: "Of course, it's the club that I've always wanted to be at," he said. "I'm very comfortable at this club, I'm happy with how it's going, last season and now this season as well, and I just want to finish the season strongly."

Silva a contender for Chelsea job after sacking of Rosenior
Marco Silva is among the contenders to take over at Chelsea following the sacking of Liam Rosenior.

Silva's contract at Fulham expires this summer and he has so far not committed his future to the club.

And he is among those being considered by Chelsea, as is Andoni Iraola, who will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season.

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has also been linked with the job.

Fabregas has been a revelation as manager of unfashionable Italian club Como, who are fifth in Serie A.

Silva, 48, managed Everton, Watford and Hull City prior to returning to English football to take over at Fulham in 2021.

He has been a huge success at Craven Cottage, leading the Whites back to the Premier League and re-establishing them in the top flight.

But there has long been doubt over his long-term future and he has made no secret of his ambitions to work at the highest level.

Former Fulham defender Rosenior was fired on Wednesday in the wake of a dismal Chelsea display in a 3-0 defeat at Brighton – the Blues' fifth consecutive league loss without scoring.

Fulham said to have made contact for midfielder – Conflicting reports muddy valuation
Fulham are being pushed into the spotlight in the race for Richard Ríos, with fresh claims from Portugal suggesting they may have already taken a step forward – even if the wider picture remains far from settled.

The Benfica midfielder has been on the radar of several Premier League sides in recent weeks.

As we covered, Colombian press also mentions Manchester United as a possible suitor alongside the Cottagers, but much of that interest has been described as monitoring rather than action.

Now, a report from Apito Final shifts some of the focus towards Fulham.

Claims of Fulham contact – but numbers raise questions
According to the Portuguese outlet, Fulham have already made contact over a potential move for Richard Ríos. The same report places the Colombian in a price bracket of around €45m (£39m), while also suggesting Napoli are considering an approach of their own.

Those details would represent a clear development if accurate. However, they also introduce contradictions when set against what has already been reported elsewhere.

For example, previous coverage has consistently pointed to Benfica holding a much firmer position on valuation. Ríos has a €100m (£87m) release clause in his contract, which runs until 2030. That figure has been treated internally as a reference point rather than a negotiating starting line.

In that context, "some reports suggesting €45m range" sit uneasily alongside Benfica's known stance.

Benfica stance remains unchanged
Richard Ríos' situation has been well defined by Portuguese reporting in recent days.

The midfielder is settled in Lisbon and values his role under José Mourinho. There is no indication he is pushing for a transfer this summer. More importantly, Benfica are not looking to sell under normal circumstances.

The club's position is clear: only an offer considered "irresistible" would open the door to negotiations. That is not aligned with the €30m–€45m range being floated in some corners of the market.

There is also a strategic element at play. Benfica are aware that the 2026 World Cup could significantly increase Ríos' value. As a result, they are prepared to wait rather than cash in now.

What happens next
For Fulham, this could be an opportunity to move early if they truly see Ríos as a priority. Acting before the World Cup would make sense financially, especially if Benfica's valuation increases afterwards.

However, the contradictions between reports cannot be ignored.

On one side, there are suggestions of a €45m (£39m) deal and early contact. On the other, there is a club holding out for significantly more, a player not pushing to leave, and a strategy built around future appreciation.

Fulham establish contact over Richard Rios amid Manchester United links
Fulham are making moves to beat Manchester United to the signature of Benfica midfield mainstay Richard Rios.

Richard Rios is unlikely to continue at Benfica beyond this season. The Colombian international is ready to make the jump to a bigger club, and according to a report from CaughtOffside, Fulham and Manchester United both have their eyes on the defensive midfielder.

The Cottagers have established contact as they look to beat the Red Devils to his signature. The report suggests that Benfica could let him go if an offer of around €45 million arrives.

On the back of two impressive years at Palmeiras, Rios made the move to the Portuguese giants last summer, and he has had quite an impact in his debut campaign. The 25-year-old has been involved in 42 matches across competitions and has even contributed towards 10 goals.

He has shown great defensive awareness, and his ball-playing ability has also been right up there. The Colombian has featured in a variety of positions in the centre of the park, and he has done a great job in each of those roles.

His consistent performances have impressed clubs in England, who are now ready to prise him away from Benfica despite his contract running until 2030. The Portuguese club could green-light his sale for around €45 million. But they will look to wait until the end of the World Cup, as his performances at the global level could raise the price further.

Premier League duo to battle for Rios
Meanwhile, clubs like Fulham and Manchester United are keen on his signature, but they value him at around €30 million. The Cottagers lack depth in the centre of the park, and with Sander Berge the only out-and-out defensive midfielder in their squad, they are desperate to sign one in the summer. Rios is believed to be quite high on their wishlist.

The Red Devils are also keen on his signature, as they look for someone who can replace Casemiro. With the Brazilian international leaving at the end of the season, they want someone who can form a dependable partnership with Kobbie Mainoo.

The Cottagers are looking to beat United to his signature, and they have already established contact regarding a potential transfer. The Manchester-based giants are expected to make two midfield signings in the summer, and Rios certainly fits the bill. However, it remains unclear if he would be a priority target for them.

Inside Fulham's battle to keep hold of Marco Silva
But the Cottagers have contingency plans in place if he decides against signing a new deal

Fulham are a club approaching a crossroads.

Amid uncertainty over the future of head coach Marco Silva, whose contract expires at the end of June, the Cottagers are now obliged to weigh up options ahead of next season.

Those include the possibility of sourcing a replacement for the Portuguese, who has been at Fulham for five years, or enticing Silva with a new deal and strengthening the squad.

The west London outfit are currently 12th in the Premier League and still have an outside chance of European football in 2026-27.

However, with a squad perceived to be lacking in sufficient depth and a surprising FA Cup exit to Southampton last month, Silva has faced some supporter criticism.

As such, talks between the club hierarchy and the manager need to be resolved as quickly as possible.

Fulham are also looking at contingency plans, should Silva – previously linked with Tottenham Hotspur – choose to depart.

"If Fulham finish strongly between now and the end of the season, he may stay but the club is at a crossroads," a club insider told The i Paper.

"The club has ensured investment is there and Marco Silva is good at blending in players to the squad, but some fans suggest he is not looking enough at academy prospects.

"Silva is very guarded at the moment. He thought he might be in for the Tottenham job earlier in the season and there was interest from Brighton, too. In terms of his ambition, he wants to manage in Europe and that's what makes the last part of the season so important for Fulham as they try and reach a qualification stage.

"If Marco stays then expect the backroom team to be bolstered. I think he feels it is a bit thin at the moment, compared to other clubs, but things like that are getting closer in discussions around his future.

"However, if Marco does go, Tony Khan [Fulham sporting director] has a contingency plan. Any replacement manager would have to be Premier League ready, with a similar profile to Silva. Someone who also knows European leagues and is a tracksuit manager."

Intriguingly, someone who is available and broadly fits the bill in the event of Silva leaving Fulham is Thomas Frank.

The Dane left Brentford for Tottenham last June, only to become a managerial casualty of a fraught season after just eight months in north London.

Frank attended the scoreless derby between Brentford and Fulham on Saturday, fuelling speculation that he could be a potential new boss at Craven Cottage.

"He [Frank] lives in Sheen, south west London and would be a good fit for Fulham, but Crystal Palace are also interested," the source explained.

"The Khan family are big on someone nice to deal with in and around the club, and Thomas Frank is a really decent guy.

"Older and younger Fulham fans may have different views on the idea of him, but he is a good fit for younger player development which worked well at Brentford.

"This has obvious appeal for the Khans. I'm not sure he would be the top choice if Marco left, but he is a choice. He was at the Brentford-Fulham game for something, maybe he was looking at Fulham?

"He knows the Premier League very well so would certainly be a consideration if things were to change."

With conversations ongoing over Silva, it should be noted that the majority of Fulham fans would prefer the former Everton and Sporting Lisbon coach to remain.

Harry Wilson may leave the club shortly too, which is another concern in relation to summer rebuilding and reinvestment.

The i Paper understands Silva has significant concerns over the right-back and forward positions.

"I think a lot of fans are still in the camp of wanting Marco Silva to stay," the source noted.

"The Premier League has been a bit stale this season. Look at Chelsea in sixth down to Crystal Palace in 13th place. They are all much of a muchness. Fulham's inconsistency is a concern as is the squad depth.

"While it pays for Silva to assess options, would he be seen as a strong option for Newcastle United if Eddie Howe leaves? I'm not so sure. The club have been good to him.

"Ideally he would like to stay – he knows from previous jobs that the grass isn't always greener.

"From the club's perspective they want him to stay, but they also want the team to finish the season in style. So these weeks are very important in terms of Silva staying or going. I do feel he owes some loyalty to Fulham. The players love him. It's 'do or die' time for Fulham, really."

Malik Tillman considers Leverkusen exit as Fulham and Brentford show interest
Malik Tillman is reportedly considering leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

Less than a year after his move from PSV Eindhoven, Malik Tillman is weighing up a transfer away from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sport Bild.

The United States international is understood to be frustrated with his role in the team and limited playing time under head coach Kasper Hjulmand, with sporting managing director Simon Rolfes having been made aware of this.

According to the report, at least two Premier League clubs want to sign Tillman – namely Fulham FC and Brentford FC – who both showed interest in the attacking midfielder last summer, when he opted to make the switch to the BayArena.

Both clubs are said to be willing to pay the €35 million Leverkusen invested to sign the 23-year-old.

As per the report, the club's management still believe in Tillman and don't want to let him go. However, if Hjulmand – against expectations – remains in charge, Tillman will likely push for a transfer after the World Cup with the United States at the latest.

The 23-year-old has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 37 appearances for Die Werkself.

Unai Emery licking his lips ahead of Fulham vs Aston Villa as only Pep Guardiola does it better
Unai Emery knows Aston Villa are as good as over the line in their pursuit of a Champions League return.

Sunday's dramatic 4-3 victory over Sunderland at Villa Park leaves the Villans eight points clear of sixth, with a game in hand also to come.

Even a point in West London on Saturday would be considered a positive return, but Emery will no doubt have other ideas.

While next week's Europa League semi-final clash with Nottingham Forest may take priority, the Villans cannot afford to take their eye off the ball domestically.

And ahead of Villa's trip to Fulham, a stat has emerged that highlights just how much Emery enjoys this fixture.

Unai Emery boasts perfect record vs Fulham
Emery can turn this into a campaign for the ages at Villa Park as the Villans chase European silverware and a top-three finish in the Premier League.

Even finishing as low as fifth would mean qualification for next season's Champions League, regardless of what happens in the Europa League.

Villa will enter the clash with Fulham as strong favourites to keep their momentum going. Indeed, Villa have won six in a row against Fulham in the Premier League.

And Emery himself just loves managing against the Cottagers, having won all eight of his Premier League matches against them, including his time in charge at Arsenal.

Only Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has a better 100 per cent record against an opponent in the competition.

Guardiola has 12 wins from 12 against Fulham – it must be something about them – and 10 from 10 against Watford.

Ollie Watkins also has brilliant record vs Fulham
Ollie Watkins is one of those who has found his stride of late, with seven goals and a couple of assists in his past eight matches.

The England international will still be hopeful of landing a World Cup squad, despite his recent omission by Thomas Tuchel, with a strong end to the campaign imperative.

Facing Fulham this weekend provides Watkins with a chance to maintain his form, having scored six goals in nine Premier League appearances against them.

In fact, Watkins has only scored more goals against Brighton (nine) and Arsenal (seven), making them his third-favourite opponents.

One thing Emery will perhaps be a little more cautious about is his defence, as Villa have conceded at least three goals in three of their last five league outings.

That is as many as in their previous 38 games combined, which will no doubt be the focus of attention in training this week.

Given Emery's record against Fulham, though, plus Watkins' impressive run, there is no reason why three more points cannot be added to the board this coming weekend.

What is this Fulham team's identity?
Each season, Marco Silva's Fulham has had one. But now it's less clear.

Every team evolves (or devolves) year after year. Sometimes this can be a really obvious evolution, usually through a managerial change - look at Manchester United and the difference from Erik Ten Hag to Ruben Amorim to Michael Carrick. Not just the difference in results, but the difference in methods.

Evolution under the same manager can be a lot more subtle and gradual, but when you zoom out, still really stark. You probably can't pinpoint the moment that Mikel Arteta decided to turn his Arsenal side into villains, but they have certainly changed throughout his reign (of terror).

Under Marco Silva, we've benefited from the continuity of having the same leader, but it certainly hasn't stopped us evolving. Every year, I think we've had a distinct identity, which has been different from the preceding season.

Championship champions
Probably the easiest season to define. An identity that ultimately boiled down to: "We don't care who you are, we will score more goals than you".

We set up every week to dominate possession with technical central midfielders, attacking with flying full-backs and a front three that the division will never forget.

It was possibly my favourite ever Fulham season as it was a genuine joy to watch and such a massive change from the style of football we'd become accustomed to at the time.

Premier League evolution
2022/23
We'd been stung by the top flight before. We knew we'd need to adapt, sacrificing our desire to dominate and focusing on being a bit more pragmatic.

Marco absolutely nailed it in our first season back and I think we actually forget just how incredible that campaign was. Finishing 10th as a newly-promoted side is always going to be impressive, but particularly when we had to deal with all of the "yo-yo club" discourse.

We decided we would prove everyone wrong. It was a team filled with Premier League rejects and has-beens who stood up and proved that they were still good enough. That felt like our identity, from those in the stands to those on the pitch, telling the world that we are Premier League club.

As an aside, I do think that such a superb first season did set the bar really high and has made the seasons after it feel less impressive than we would have considered them back in our Championship days.

2023/24
Season two in the top flight was notable for a few things. Firstly, it was the year we took on the Big Six. Results against Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs brought such a buzz and garnered a lot of public attention. We'd beaten the beatable teams in our first season but struggled against the heavy hitters, so this was a marked change.

Secondly, it was life without Mitrovic. We'd spent years relying on goals from our Serb and when he wasn't scoring, we were losing; we all remember Ivan Cavaleiro playing as a striker. It was hard but we found a way to spread the goals across the team in a way we hadn't seen in a while.

Finally, it was an eye-opening season for what is possible in cup competitions. We pushed Liverpool all the way in the semi-finals of the Carabao and it made us realise that silverware was a genuine possibility.

All of these factors considered, I think our identity that year was David. We knew our place in the pyramid but we realised, on our day, we could topple the Goliaths of England.

2024/25
Last season was further growth. The squad continued to evolve, with some of the old guard being replaced and real depth being added.

We started to feel comfortable in our top flight status, slapping about some of the weaker teams but still able to trouble the top dogs on our day, including that win at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

It was a record points tally but also a season of missed opportunities in the league and cup. Cynically, last year's identity was probably bottle jobs. But bottle jobs that we had affection for. We'd seen enough to know we had something special in us, that we could go all the way sometime soon.

Who are we now?
So what is the identity of the 2025/26 vintage?

I don't know.

I'm not sure we have one - not a positive one anyway. This season has felt like we've just bounced about, winning games here and there, usually in a manner that evoked relief rather than inspiration and joy.

We've been tepid against the big boys. We've eked over the line against the division's whipping boys, and sometimes lost to them.

The biggest problem is that I can't really pin down a style of football, especially recently. We've been slow in possession, without having a lot of it. We've not pressed the opposition relentlessly, but also haven't countered quickly when we do win it.

It's like we're an amalgam of different aspects of our previous seasons and it hasn't come together in a cohesive way. We're the equivalent of mixing together lots of pretty colours, thinking you'll make an even better colour, but you actually just end up with grey.

And look: grey's fine. This season certainly hasn't been vanta black, like it has been for Wolves. We're a stable, mid-table Premier League club, whose performance is probably par for the course. However, it's also been the most disappointing of all of our seasons under Silva because we've seen "teams like us" achieve our dreams whilst we continue to plod along. We know that we are capable of doing it too, we just can't seem to make those dreams a reality.

Perhaps our identity is simply: a middle-of-the-road, average top flight side, with little to get excited about? That sounds an awful lot like Crystal Palace, before they won the FA Cup.

So, fingers crossed for next season eh?

Leeds plotting summer move for ex-Fulham flop who's now perfect for Farke
Leeds United have joined the race for RC Strasbourg forward Martial Godo, with Daniel Farke looking to strengthen his forward line in the summer transfer window.

Leeds aren't quite over the line, but they are now in a seriously strong position to remain in the Premier League, moving eight points clear of Tottenham Hotspur courtesy of a 3-0 dismantlement of Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road on Saturday.

Noah Okafor was once again amongst the goals, with the left-winger bagging his seventh Premier League goal of the season, and he earned plaudits from his manager, who said: "We also speak about things that we want to see tactically, but all the credit goes to him. He's in a fantastic shape and he needs to make sure he stays on it, stays humble and stays hungry and ride the wave as far as possible."

Okafor is the Whites' second-highest scorer in the Premier League this season, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin leading the way, after sealing three points against Rob Edwards' side from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

Premier League manager is an early candidate to replace Liam Rosenior as Chelsea boss
Chelsea look as if they are going to need to find a replacement for Liam Rosenior as the new manager of the club, and are reportedly looking at Fulham boss Marco Silva as a potential candidate.

Liam Rosenior was on the end of plenty of abuse from the travelling Chelsea fans as they suffered another damning Premier League defeat to Brighton.

The situation seems untenable, and the latest reports state that Rosenior has already said goodbye to the Chelsea players following their latest loss.

With just a few games left of the season, their chances of getting a new permanent manager now are slim, with Calum McFarlane expected to be in charge for the rest of the season.

Simon Phillips has claimed that while Cesc Fabregas will be on the list of the club, there will also be some pushing for Marco Silva to become the club's new manager after his stint at Fulham.

He said: "I know they will approach Cesc Fabregas if this does happen, but I'm not sure he will come right now. Marco Silva is another name I've heard early doors at this stage, but more names will certainly come up IF they do decide to sack Rosenior."

Premier League experience should be at the top of Chelsea's list for what they are looking for in a new manager, after Rosenior has proven to be out of his depth at the top level of English football.

Silva has a number of years under his belt at Fulham, as well as a spell at Hull City, Watford and Everton.

Silva is yet to sign a new contract with Fulham, and his current deal expires at the end of the season.

This would mean Chelsea would not have to pay any sort of fee to their Premier League rivals to bring him to Stamford Bridge should they decide to hire him.

The Blues will likely have to pay a significant amount of money to pay off the rest of Rosenior's contract after he put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the club.

Chelsea avoided a big payout on Maresca's deal after he somewhat walked away from his deal, although this is certainly a trend that needs to be bucked immediately.
