Apparently is a global first in ladies football...to be designed & built by women... Bit like Waterloo Bridge

Bet they'll have better bogs than we do at Fulham!!

It's strange to me. I would have thought that the rapid ascent of the women's game in recent years now would best be confirmed to be equal to the men's game by using the same stadium as the men.
£80m seems a big price to pay for individual development....but then again , this is football.....

The women's game may have grown a lot from where it was in the past (nowhere), but the Amex is still far too big for the crowds they'll get week on week. The new stadium will have a 10,000 capacity apparently.

....and so in demanding a smaller stadium it might be said that the women's game is not confident that it can grow to match the men's game in all ways.

where did you read that?
It was built mainly by women during the Second World War because of the shortage of male labour.

It's a well known line we used as we drove over it...we weren't just driver's - we also had a bit of history.... don't get me on about the bat cave & the nose... I'm full of useless information

How did I never hear this before today?

The current Waterloo Bridge, opened in 1945, was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and famously constructed during World War II largely by women (up to 65% of the workforce), earning it the nickname "Ladies' Bridge". The engineering firm was Rendel, Palmer and Tritton, with contractors Peter Lind & Company.

Amazing 👏👊💪
