Games for mid-week 30/12

We make the short trip to South London to take on Palace at Selhurst Park for an 5:30 kick off

Palace v Fulham

The win at West Ham was our 3rd in a row, the last time we won three “top-flight” matches on the bounce was January 2023.
It is worth noting that we have now won six of the last nine and the win against West Ham took us up to 10th in the league.
Also its worth noting is that Raúl has scored in the last two games, both 1-0, incidentally Harry Wilson had a couple of assitsts.

Over the years we’ve not played Palace that often, going back to 1907 we’ve only played them 55 times, 19 wins, 19 losses and 17 draws.
Our record, for the previous 8 games, is so so with 2 wins, 3 losses, including 2 cup games, and 3 draws.

Palace are one place above us, on goal difference, however they’ve lost 4 of the last six games, including the previous 3, Spurs, Leeds, Man City, Man Utd, 3 home games, and won 2 games, against us and Burnley both away games.

My team would be the same as West Ham away…

Games for the weekend 23/08

We travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace for a 3 o’clock kickoff

Crystal Palace v Fulham

I was really pleased for Vinicius, to come on as a sub against Luton and get a goal, you can’t ask much more of him, I think he’ll start against Palace.
Iwobi also had a very good game, could he end up our star signing this season?
Ream was back to his best, Bassey will have to go some to displace him, either player would be a good partner for Diop.
Overall João, once again, had a fantastic game the best player on the pitch by a country mile, no sign of sulking or petulance, with both him and Reed signing new contracts a welcome bit of news. I still expect he’ll go next summer if not January but lets enjoy him in a Fulham shirt while we can.

Palace have reported that Roy is back from a short bought of illness at the weekend, hopefully he won’t get 3 points as a “tonic” this week, stay well Mr Hodgson.

Games for Boxing Day 26/12

So we’re back after the break for the World Cup and our first game is against Palace at their place

Crystal Palace v Fulham

It looks as if all the players came back from the World Cup safe and sound and I’m sure they’ll all be raring to go? It’ll be interesting to see who settles into the game quickest?
Isn’t it strange re-starting the season at this time of year? I wonder if we’ll get used to it if a “winter break” is introduced?

Palace are on the same number of points as us, with a goal difference 1 less than ours, however they have played 1 game less.

Our recent record against Palace is 1 win, 3 losses and 3 draws.

Assuming no injuries and everyone available, this would be my team to face Palace.

Games for the Weekend 02/02

This weekend we’re off to Selhurst Park to take on Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace v Fulham

So after our midweek game against Brighton we face a Crystal Palace side sitting 6 points above us however Palace will be without their star striker and talisman Wilfried Zaha who was sent off against Southampton.
The 2nd half performance against Brighton showed our potential, we just need to build on that and get a result, which won’t be easy, against Palace before the visit of Man Utd.
Mitro had a great game, continually bulling the defence and scored a couple which proved to be pivotal, Seri had probably his best game and it was good to see Babel get the full 90 minutes, I wonder if we’ll see Havard Nordtveit? if he’s half as good as Brede it’ll be good to have another Norwegian in the team.
