Fulham set to make £25 million bid for Claudio Ranieri's former club Nantes captain and midfielder Valentin Rongier.

I don't think it's a good idea to buy another centre midfielder, because Fulham have already spent $55 million of centre mids so far this season (Seri and Anguissa). In addition to these players fulham have MacDonald, Johnson and Cairney that won us the championship; while other players have also in been in CM season such as Chambers, Cisse and Christie (for ireland). We have 7-8 players whose favourite position is CM, fighting for two starting places in a 442 with one on the bench. We have quality in this area and while it's not working, buying more players is not the solution.

I think better to reinforce positions around CM, such as Right Back, Right Centre Back and Right Winger and Second Striker. Let's face it, Odoi is producing personal best performances every game and even if this continues he is still borderline for selection. Then hopefully with better defensive cover, midfield understanding and players around for passing options.

Then, hopefully we will start to see why Anguissa has been statistically such a strong player last season. If we can get Anguissa averaging 2.5 tackles, 2.0 intercepts, 1 clearance, 1.0 key passes, 46 passes and a 87% pass completition every game like last season, we will be strong enough in CM.

We most definitely need a centre back, right back, right sided winger and a striker first.
Then they can consider another midfielder if they think it's necessary.

we would have to terminate some loans first (if we have clauses allowing us too) wouldn't we? thought the rule was 2 domestic loans

Victor Moses May Reunite With Nigerian Coach As Fulham Join Race For Chelsea

Fulham have joined Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the race for the signature of ex-Super Eagles dazzler Victor Moses, according to reports in the English press.

The online edition of The Sun says the Cottagers are also monitoring the situation of the Nigerian winger, who is valued in the region of £12 million by Chelsea.

Nigerian manager Colin Omogbehin, who coaches Fulham U18 team, could play a big role in convincing Moses to join Fulham, rather than returning to Palace, where he spent nine years.

Omogbehin served as a mentor to Moses during his teething years at Crystal Palace Academy and both master and pupil remain very close to this day.

It is looking likely that the former Nigeria international will end his six-year association with Chelsea in the January transfer window due to his lack of first-team opportunities, with only six matches played this season from a possible 24 in all competitions.

The 27-year-old is contracted with The Blues until June 30, 2021.

Report: Deportivo striker Pedro Martelo has proposals from Fulham and Portuguese clubs amid £900,000 termination clause

Martelo could prove a low-risk gamble for Fulham.

The Deportivo La Coruna striker, Pedro Martelo, has proposals from Fulham and several unnamed clubs in his native Portugal, according to O Jogo.

Martelo has played his only senior football for Deportivo's B team, but has yet to score in 13 appearances.

But the former Benfica youth team player has impressed on the international stage, where he has scored five goals in six games for Portugal's Under-20s, and fired the winner as the Selecao's U19s claimed European Championship success earlier this year.

And O Jogo reports that Martelo's contract contains a termination clause of €1 million (around £900,000), making him a low-risk gamble for Fulham.

According to Transfermarkt, his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Fulham's only Portuguese player, Rui Fonte - who also had a spell at Benfica - is on a season-long loan to Lille.

Fulham line up January move for Islam Slimani as Claudio Ranieri plots Premier League survival

Claudio Ranieri is ready to move for Leicester's record signing Islam Slimani in January.

Ranieri, the new Fulham manager, is lining up a deal for Slimani as he targets signings to boost the club's hopes of Premier League survival.

Slimani, the Algeria international, is currently on loan at Fenerbahce but has only scored one league goal and the Turkish club are prepared to cut the deal short next month.

Ranieri signed Slimani for around £29m in August 2016 and is exploring a deal to sign him for around half the price.

It is understood Leicester will allow Slimani to join another club in January if they can agree a deal with Fenerbahce.

Leicester are also set to release long-serving midfielder Andy King, with Championship promotion contenders West Bromwich Albion registering an interest.

King is keen to move on when the transfer window opens after being left out of Claude Puel's 25-man league squad.

West Brom are considering a move for the Wales international, while there is also interest from other Championship clubs.

Adrien Silva, Leicester's £22m signing, could also leave Leicester on loan after struggling for games under Puel.

Silva has not started a league match for Leicester since the 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on August 10.

Puel has admitted players are expected to leave in the New Year and said: "We need to reduce the squad a little because we need to give some game time for players and motivation in the squad to keep all the time the good mentality and the positive attitude.

"It will not be a busy transfer window this winter because we have a squad with a lot of players."

£20 million plus for a midfielder who's never played in this country ... what could possibly go wrong??

Can we please stick to signings with experience of the English game this time??? The situatuion we're in will allow zero time for gelling and getting up to speed with the premier league. It 100% must be players who know the domestic game and will hit the ground running.

CB  Robert Huth 2m
RB  Matteo Darmian 10m

Loan/Sell/Return: Cisse, Atyie, Kebano and TFM

Two Ton Ted

Huth is 34, out of contract since the summer and hasn't kicked a ball in a competitive match for over 18 months due to injuries.

Can we please stop mentioning him as a potential signing?
Never ever bloody anything ever.

Huth was slow before injuries and lack of game time. Feels extremely uninspirational.

Darmian and Moses would be very good signings I believe and doesn't feel too unrealistic. However, our loans are limited, and not sure those players would risk signing for Fulham permanently.

Slimani has not impressed in a very long time. Don't think he would add anything at all to our attack.

Would keep Ayite regardless, and Kebano unless we get a few decent offensive signings in. A few injuries and a player like Kebano is very likely to feature.

Don't mind TFM leaving based on what I have seen so far, and seem like Ranieri doesn't rate him at all anyway. Cisse, well I have no clue whether he is any good but may get a look in under Ranieri.

+1000000000 - it's not that hard. Imagine a Top 10 defence with the rest of our squad. Mid table easy. It will free up our MF to actually be midfielders rather than covering for the mistakes from the back 4.
