after the 1st half horror show against ManU the team played much better in the 2nd half, also getting a second goal in two games AK47 must have earned a starting place. Seri needs some time on the bench, he's a better player than we've seen so far, its just not working at the moment.
Rico
Christie Odoi Mawson Bryan
Chambers KMac

I don't think Mawson is comfortable at RCB, barely played there over the last few years.
Hence, I'd go for the defence that was starting to work:
Rico
Christie Odoi Mawson Le Marchand
Chambers Seri
Kamara Cairney Sessegnon
Mitrovic
Even though I don't rate Kamara, hard not to start him atm.
Bench: Betts, Ream, Bryan, McDonald, Johansen, Ayite, Schurrle.
Rico
Christie Mawson Ream Bryan
Chambers Seri
Kamara Cairney Sessegnon
Mitro
Used Subs: MLM (3); Schurrle (7); Vietto (10)
Unused Subs: Betts, Odoi, Cisse, Kebano
Rested: Fabri, TFM, McDonald, Johansen, Ayite, Anuisssa
Rico
Christie Odoi Mawson MLM
Chambers Seri
AK47 Cairney Sessegnon
Mitro
Rico
Odoi Le Marchand Mawson Bryan
Chambers
AK47 Seri Cairney Sessegnon
Mitro
I'd go with this.
Maybe worth to try 4-1-4-1, leaves more options for Cairney and Seri to help Mitro in turns while one can always stay deeper:
Rico
Christie Odoi Mawson Bryan
Chambers
Kamara Cairney Seri Sessegnon
Mitrovic
Subs: Bettinelli, MLM, Ream, Johansen, Vietto, Kebano
EDIT: FFC1987 beat me with the formation already :D
Strange all the moans about Seri yet still included in most teams.
If all fit
Rico
Christie Mawson Ream Bryan
KMac Chambers
Kamara Sessegnon
Cairney
Mitrovic
Subs Betts, Odoi, MLM, StefJo, Seri, Vietto, Schurrle (Would bring him on in the 10 role if TC not performing)

We're going to composure in the midfield against West Ham. So I'm somewhat recreating our 3 midfield of Cairney and Johansen on opposite sides. West Ham have playmakers, now we do too, with a destroyer in Chambers to play that KMac role. The key will be Kamara and Sess tucking central, and forward, when we're in the attack. We can also do many things with this formation, from slotting to a 4-4-2 with our Chambers and Johansen covering the wings, similar to what we do already. I want to keep Mawson at LCB, and put MLM at RCB where he's played for Nice before. I hate to keep Mitro isolated, but he will have many options in 5-man midfield.
4-5-1

Don't mind anyone as long as Seri is not in the team - needs a spell on the bench
I just cannot believe how many would play KMac he has become a carthorse!!

Left footed CB at RCB is often a formula for failure.
Rather have a carthorse giving 100% than a someone that doesn't give a dam

KMac is past it and should be sold ASAP along with Ream both are not up to it at this level.
Same line up as vs Southampton. Bryan if MLM not fit.

So far he hasn't made a single pass with right foot IMO. Always trying to set the ball onto his left foot.

If we are talking about MLM being the first choice "right centre back" without any centre back injuries, then we need to start shopping now for 1st January 2019 purchase, because no player should be playing regularly in his third choice position (after LCB and LB).

If the fans are looking for someone that shows he gives a damn, then you can find your centre midfielder at the "Guildford School of Acting".

Hm, that's incorrect, but I have no footage right at the time of this post to show otherwise. I do remember he played a threading pass through a crowd to Sess' foot. It stuck out to me because it was well driven and with his right foot.
Obviously, this set up is not just to address the passing, but it is also helpful to to contain the likes of Anderson and Snodgrass from cutting inside and shooting. Both players scored against Palace by cutting inside and shooting with their stronger foot. Any defender knows that you have a higher chance of blocking a shot by opening your body up versus closing it off and turning your back. Dennis Odoi's attempt at blocking Ashley Young's shot this past weekend is a good example where he chose to try to block with the outside of his right foot versus opening up his left side to square up and provide a bigger obstacle for the shot to go through.

It is getting hard to select a team, so many failures and we are now aware that not only have we problems in the back four but that our midfield is being overrun.
I think this selection is possibly the best with K. Mac in place of Seri and AK47 in to provide pace , muscle and enthusiasm.

This is the obvious lineup. Claudio thinks too highly of Seri, and MLM..until proven otherwise...is defensively better than Joe Bryan.
He's probably done on our squad, but I'd love to see Timothy Fosu-Mensah get some time in Chamber's CDM spot. Chambers isn't going to play every game playing as hard as he does, and if Claudio is going to insist on playing Seri there is going to need to be an aggressive defender in the back beside him.
I'd also prefer we play a 4-4-2 with AK47 up top with Mitro...but I know that will never happen.
I think MLM is out injured?

AK Cairney Ayite

You could always swap Kamara and Schurrle around in there but that at least gives us freedom to chop and change the formation during the match. It provides flexibility too, so it's right up CR's street.

That essentially makes the dynamic midfield 3 we had last year. To be fair, they have not had a run at all together like that since Wembley.
Imho, it should have been that way from the very beginning, then slowly introduce the newest, unproven players, and maintain chemistry versus just playing new players for the sake of it.
Guess Ryan and MLM are both hurt.
Neither on the bench.
Oh well...hopefully we won't miss Ryan's work rate on offense and defense.
