For me, it would be
Ipswich
Southampton
Coventry
I honestly don't care tbh...
Anybody bar Leeds.
I usually just root for less wealthy clubs for promotion, to increase competition in the pyramid in some minor way. So I guess Ipswich, Coventry, and Leicester (well off but the lesser of three evils imo).
Any 3x sides we can take 18 points off next season.
Bristol City, but that's not going to happen barring a miracle
I'm half watching the Leeds game, one Premier League standard player I think. Not really bothered who comes up.
Coventry City
Leicester City
Ipswich Town
A tail of two Citys?
Saints
Cov
Ipswich
In no particular order.
Norwich as I live there and would be able to make an extra game. Ipswich too would be great. Don't care about the third.

Having the East Anglian derby in the Premier League would be fun. Has that happened before?

Yep my choice to obviously.

Ipswich, have followed them since we lost to them under Magath. Blue Monday podcast is top quality. They've just had 105 Million pounds investment and have good owners. They also have forums (3 times a year) with the management team and fans. A bit different in communication terms than FFC. Norwich would be ok, we haven't had a 6-0 for a couple of seasons! Coventry, after their trials and tribulations recently, their fans deserve a bit of luck.
I have mates who are Ipswich and Leicester supporters, so I have to support them. Mind you I also have a Brentford supporting mate, so that doesn't work.
Norwich City
Ipswich Town
Southampton

I don't think so it would be fun to watch.

If that happens let's get seats next to each other at the Fulham away games haha
In order
Southampton - nice away trip
Hull City
Norwich City - we always seem to get 6 points from them

My mutual friend tells me that Ipswich have great expectations.
Leicester
Southampton
Hull
I seem to recall Leeds are usually a decent donor to the annual Fulham survival fund.
As said above, Norwich like to help us out too.
So, them and one other.
The 3 clubs that are the nearest, not so far to travel.
Quote from: sarnian on March 29, 2024, 08:25:13 PMAnybody bar Leeds.
yes I so agree . I guess I still feel spiteful towards Leeds but probably shouldn't it was the era of hunter.brmner, lorimer , Giles etc that made me dislike them perhaps I shouldn't be carrying it on today but can't help it.
Ipswich, for sure. Would be a great story for double promotion which is rare these days.
Well. I'd take Maidenhead, Knotts County and Chesterfield. 18 guaranteed points and zero chance of relegation. But since they aren't in the Championship, I would prefer more teams like Lutton and Burnley - genuinely interesting to have them in the EPL and honestly not a real danger to us.
Ipswich, my son in law supports them.Plus easy away day.
Quote from: Rupert on March 30, 2024, 12:29:02 PMI seem to recall Leeds are usually a decent donor to the annual Fulham survival fund.
They are usually but the problem with them they will somehow get tickets in the Home end at Craven cottage. 100% guaranteed as they do have a big following to be fair to them but if they are paying Riverside prices, good luck to them a long expensive 0 points
Leeds top of my list. My grandpa was an avid Leeds fan and knew their old owner Manny Silver as the Jewish community in Leeds really banded together to support them.
After that, underdogs really. So probably Ipswich and Coventry
i saw ipswich play early season and they looked unstoppable. promotion certs with leicester i said. and leeds looked methodical but nowt special. a month or so ago ipsiwch's blip looked to have ruled them out of auto but leicester still looked nailed on. now they are not in the autos. its still hard to see past ipswich leicester and leeds. southampton might have a say in that?
but i'd like to see preston get promoted for no other reason than it would be a refreshing change and a novelty. all the teams above them have been in the prem although ipswich have dropped leagues recently.
Southampton - for an easy away day
Ipswich - for an easy 6 points
Plus anyone other than Leeds
Ipswich,
Leicester (only because they'll fill a relegation spot with their immediate points deduction),

Would that be the best of times ....or... the worst of times??
Ipswich (they have some tough away games still to play)
Norwich (East Anglian derby next week maybe the most important ever)
Southampton (Although our recent record is not great against them)
Leeds because handy for me to get to, since I've mainly stopped going to games through cost, though looks like we'll lose Burnley - even handier.
Whoever comes up will likely struggle - look at Burnley, running away with the Champ last season, and much applauded for their attacking style.
Or look at ourselves, even, though we've done so well since last coming up.

Maybe a lot do with their their manager, Don Revie, a pretty dodgy character, who went on to manage England, but allegations now that he tried to bribe opponents, and took bungs - nothing ever proved in Law, maybe more like rumours and gossip, I hasten to add.
They also had Fulham legend Allan Clarke playing for them.
Also, the game was a lot different then , far more 'physical,' also, every team had a 'hard man' many of whom would be sent off after their first tackle today. Even Fulham had the likes of Bobby Keetch and Peter Storey, who'd won major honours with Arsenal, playing for them.
When Cloughie took over at Leeds, after Revie went to England, he told the players that 'you should throw all your medals and trophies in the bin, because you've won them all all through cheating' - needless to say, the players didn't perform for him, and he left in a record short time -44 days, and went onto manage Forest, who did win things!

Don't be so cocky about Ipswich. They have a strongish squad and have just had 105 million investment with some of that destined for players. They are upgrading the whole club structure and regularly get circa 30,000 crowds. Their commercial dept., has had record shirt sales and sponsorship deals. A club that the Khans could learn a lot from about openness and keeping fans on side.
Definitely Coventry after the shite that they have been through.
After that, anyone except Leeds really. Ipswich and Southampton?

Ipswich's squad currently, would massively struggle in Prem. I feel like it would actually do them some good to consolidate this year and push harder next year as large sections of their squad is still bottom half of championship, to top half of league one standard. From Suffolk and my side of the family are STH'ers of Town and that's a fairly consistent argument they share. Obviously, they want to go up, but its a major concern and a really, really big job they;d have to make that squad competitive. Also, stadium is less than 30k and only over the last few seasons have they averaged 28.5k roughly, prior to that, it was lower than 20k consistently but the new owners, as you say, have really galvanised the club and the fanbase.

It is obvious it would be a two of Ipswich, Leeds and Leicester so I would go for Tractor boys and Foxes. Ipswich is just a good sporting story and we have good results vs Leicester lately.
Third team I would like to be Coventry. Same as Ipswich, a good loyal manager who plays good football.

I am more excited that we have got points off so-called big clubs. Relying on winning against every lower placed club is probably not sustainable, or at least it is more likely to be attainable as an area for improvement when only doing it inconsistently. We have taken, so far, 4 points from Arsenal, 3 from Man Utd, 3 from West Ham, 3 from Spurs, with the potential for more to come, and I'm sure Silva would have been targeting that for this season.
Saints. I would like to see them back. My oldest friend supports them so have seen several games there, especially when Fulham play. I was at the 3-2 win last season, I think saints relegation season and years ago, a game which ended 3-3. Beattie scored 2 for saints, i cant remember who scored for Fulham, very odd!!!
