Made his debut on Boxing Day 1952 and who did they play? Southampton, ended in a 1-1 draw

The player Haynes displaced was pretty good, Bobby Brennen an Irish international but he quickly lost his place as Haynes was so good right from the start. We were then in for two decades of entertainment from our best ever player. How lucky we were.

Wonder if that's an Omen for today Mr P?
Still miss him and wish we had him watching from the Stands a la Bobby Charlton at United.

We really, really need three points......but I'm not sure.
COME ON YOU SUPER WHITES.......
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

I was at that game. Arthur Stevens gave us the lead and they equalised late in the game. Their goal was, of course, off-side!!!

Dodgin

Feel so lucky to have watched him so many times.

Just found this
48 minutes of Fulham vs Man Utd in 1964 (even though the BBC spelt his name wrong)
Starts off with a typical Keetch tackle? on the touchlines after about 15 seconds

Remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

Well spotted Peabody.  :54:I am 3/4 through the 2008 book by Ashwater Press about the Maestro. It is phenomenal, just as Johnny was. If you have not seen this one then I do recommend this.  :54:

There shouldn't be a gap between spell and the comma

Full stop after the close bracket.  :005: :005: :005:

Also there should be a full stop after seconds

And whilst we are on grammar, it is not SHOULD OF but SHOULD HAVE or SHOULD"VE.

Really enjoyed this video, the first time I had seen Macedo in action, very decisive, and boy he is quick to release the ball! Makes a change from a lot of today's keepers.
Is a dream a lie if it don't come true?

Never saw him at his best on the decline when I started going.

I have just finished reading the Ashwater Press book about the Maestro from 2008. With A4 sized pages I really do recommend this one. Can you believe that after his last ever game for us there was no mention of his leaving the club after 20 years loyal service in the next match day programme.

BBC accurate as ever in 1964 with Haines playing  064.gif

I thought in the Man U game Robson (who was a great player anyway) looked real class

He was. Part of the golden inside forward trio when along aside Jezzard and Haynes. In fact in the mid fifties when there was Arthur Stevens on the right wing and Charlie Mitten on the left all 5 could have played for England and Fulham were a div 2 side! If only we had have had a defence from '53-'55.....

How on earth could the BBC spell the Maestro's name that way!
