We can Still Catch Burnley...We have to play them yet...

First they have to lose to Wolves, and West Ham...very possible.

Then we have to beat Chelsea. Usually not very likely, but the game is sandwiched between their two games with Real Madrid...Never a better chance...

Then we play Burnley... Beat them and we are out of the bottom 3 on goal difference.

It ain't over (yet).

If a) Burnley lose 1-0 to Liverpool, Wolves, West Ham, Leeds and Fulham; and b) Fulham beat Southampton 1-0, plus c) we only lose by two goals to Chelsea and ManUtd; then we enter the final day on 33 points with a goal difference advantage of 4 goals over Burnley and playing against Newcastle.

This is a very achievable goal, and if we can get points against Chelsea or ManUtd it's an unplanned bonus. Of course, like anyone in 18th place we depend on the teams above us failing but I am certain they (either Burnley or Brighton) will drop 12-18 points, so the big question is can we get 6-10 points. For example, after Brighton's next game, it is easy to see them not getting another point.

It's very possible, much depends on others, we are no longer in control of our own destiny. We will have a much better idea after the next set of matches in the Premiership, it removes the games in hand other teams have.

Yea loving the hope, and it's not over but looking very doubtful right now,
can't predict the games. Who would have thought Newcastle would pull away.

and of course WBA who have 2 games in hand on us and are in good form do not just sail straight past us.

Stop clutching at short straws and jus remember that to win matches you have to score goals and we have demonstrated  time and again that we cannot do that.

The continually 'passing back' mindset is the problem. I can't think of any other team that does it as much. Are we scared of losing the ball?

Against Everton, for the first time I can remember, when we got deep into Everton's half we rarely passed the ball back into our own half. For the most part we crossed, tried to beat players, etc. We created loads of chances, we scored a couple, on the night it should have been more. Maja could have easily scored 4.

There is only one way to get out this , and its play like we did against Liverpool at home in the first half. and that's for every game left for 94 mins.

I reckon they will turnover Wolves

Wolves generally don't score in the first half of matches. Wolves are a second half team. They lost some key players, Jota and injuries to Jimanez.

Dunstable Fulham

Burnley will get something from both Wolves and West Ham.

If we win all our remaining games we will have forty two points which may/should be enough.

I know it is looking gloomy; but it was after Juve scored at CC to make it 4-1 on aggregate.  We didn't all leave the ground at that point.

I do get it is different with our lack of goals being the obvious factor BUT for the sake of a couple of mins of loss of concentration/bad luck or whatever we would have had another 3 points from out last 2 games.  Small margins as Scotty always loves to say.

I am not a fan of Scotty's style; the lack of positivity on the pitch is so frustrating.  Like everyone else I'm sure, I am so angry at the end of our matches at the style, the missed opportunities etc.  BUT by the time the next one comes along I am full of hope again.  Crazy but that is what supporting a team like Fulham is like.

We are not down yet.  We have to keep believing until we can't anymore.

My concern is Brighton and Burnely will pickup points. We could beat them but overall, they are better than us and they have enough games to ensure they get some points.

That being said, confidence is a big factor. I can't see Burnely losing the next two but if they did and we somehow win, there is massive pressure on them and everything goes out the window.

Hear me out here... I think we can catch Southampton on GD.. we are 9 points behind. If you look at their fixtures, they are the most likely not to get another point. If we can beat Burnley, Southampton and Newcastle (all possible), we can go above them even with a loss to Chelsea and Man Utd
