"It'll be to far South for me, and very seasonal."

Undeniably further south.

I've only ever been in the spring, summer and early autumn. I am interested, though that it has two Premier Inns, one on the seafront where we usually stay, the other a mile or two inland, and they recently increased the size of the seafront one. I suspect, though of course don't know, that there may be more business stayers at both than one might expect.

Good luck in Teignmouth. Nice town though as the last time we were there a seagull crapped on my wife's head, we have rather different memories of it!

Early days.... Teignmouth is about 4 stop's from Exeter, didn't want to be much further South than that, and i understand Paignton is quite a big tourist destination, want somewhere a bit quieter

I was born in Paignton and lived in Brixham and Totnes as a child, went to junior school in Totnes and use to visit Teignmouth for the carnival and Newton Abbott for stock car racing,
Buggered if I'd want to live there now though, appreciate we've all got different ideas and thoughts,
"Tired of London, Tired of Life"
The West End of London is to valuable to me to give up in the foreseeable future.

I was born and grew up in London; Pimlico, Victoria, Putney, Southfields and lastly Hampton before moving down to South Devon when the kids were little. Every time I go back to London now (FFC, work, family & friends), I can't wait to get back to Devon, the sea views, the space, the calmer way of life. I was just tired of London but certainly life has improved since moving here.

I guess there is a time when you are "done with London life" but I'm personally no where near that yet,
I love going to Fulham, I love going to concerts and I love going to cricket,  for me moving to either Devon or Cornwall would either mean reducing my passions or stopping them altogether, what's the point in life if you're going to make that choice?
Lets take one week as an example,
Dec 20th Sheffield United Home
Dec 21st Royal Albert Hall
Dec 22nd Kew Gardens
Dec 23rd London Palladium
Virtually impossible to have a week like that in Devon, thats not indicative of every week in my life but certainly once a month at least I'm up to something,
But as I say each to their own but it's a big decision to make and Virtually impossible to reverse once you've done it, and this at a time that more and more 12.30 kick offs are creeping into our game.
Good Luck to all those contemplating the move, I do miss the cream teas and the pasties though.

That week is going to be pretty similar for me
Dec 20th Sheffield United Home
Dec 21st Kew Gardens
Dec 22nd Hamilton
But then back to Devon for bliss, sea and tranquility.
I get to over half the home games and a few aways, but agree that the early KO are a pain in the arse.

There's way more to Devon than cream teas and pasties (a cornish thing really).

Mr Riversider - when you step into the garden in the evening do you see the stars or streetlights? I can see the whole galaxy and no light pollution. What do you hear - traffic or owls and foxes calling?

In good/normal  times there's plenty of quality local concerts: no need to go into the cities and several things to do every week if you so wish. The best things aren't advertised anyway.

I get a sense of relief and relax when I get over Haldon Hill.

Pasties were invented in Devon.
