Seri/Cairney isn't the choice - it's Cairney/Carvalho.

And for tonight, where I think we want to have as near to 100% of the ball as possible, it's Cairney for me, at least to start.

Interesting alternative pov. Dropping Carv to the bench is the only way Silva could, realistically, play all three of Cairney, Seri and Reed. It could be a night for more experienced heads so having Carvalho available to cause havoc coming off the bench is an interesting option.

Sorry... I should of said TC in for Carv.... Just think TC can change a game & he has the experience

Cairney has a great left foot, that's it, adds nothing else never gets stuck in, give me Reed Seri all day long grafters....

For me Cairney and Reed to start, however whoever is left out will be unlucky.
Why not seri?
He's the best of the three

Nothing against Seri, we are lucky to have all three, nevertheless Seri's Achilles Heel is that he can be a little lightweight and is easily outmuscled in some games. So it's a bit horses for courses and for tonight's match I would start with Cairney and Reed, but if Seri starts then he will get my support but Cairney is the playmaker and put his foot on the ball, and creates and has vision, and Reed with his tenacity and work rates mean they compliment each other.
However I understand your point of view also.

I am thinking more about the balance of the team.
If seri is lightweight cairney is a feather.
Not that I wouldn't be happy to see cairney play, we are lucky to have 3 great options.
For me, reeds inability to find a forward pass is an issue.

Seri is a wonderful player but I don't feel like he can control a game quite like Tom can.

Cairney has an almost unique ability to pull the strings and bring other players into play. Seri can spot and play a pass as good as anyone in the division but Tom seems to be able to start moves that haven't even begun yet.

Would love to find a way to play both of them, otherwise I think it's a case of horses for courses and shifting them about ad the game needs.

Could not agree more. Seri has not been up to his usual high standards in the last two games, giving the ball away far too easily at times. Tom seems to keep the ball, find a pass and play others in more frequently. But as you say, horses for courses.

TC's Sporran

seri was poor v posh and on came cairney and made a massive difference.
dunno how people can ignore this and say seri is better than cairney? seri had another poor game recently but might have been ill. no tc to replace him that game.

i reckon tc will be on the bench as he wont be match fit after illness but i hope he can make a difference if/when he comes on. i do like reed and seri but they both can have dodgy games.
hope tonight isnt one of them.
i do prefer cairney as a no.10
shame we cant play him seri and reed.

Interesting, im a cairney fan but he must be up there with one of the weakest players i've ever seen in a Fulham shirt. i am exteemely surprised you said seri is lighweight compared to him

TC's Sporran

i too am a cairney fan but would never argue with anyone about his strength in the tackle

seri and reed make sense if it is to be a battle in midfield.

yes he is and so are you. lol
i bet you actually hated it when cairney delivered that ball in  for the goal. plus 3 other dangerous balls in.
but he didnt get stuck in enough so silva shouldnt have brought him on.

H4usuallysitting

Ahem..... And he get's an assist.....what a pass

RufusBrevettatemyhamster

I'll hold my hands up, Cairney changed the game for us.

The kid is great BUT the class of TC shines through .

Yes, he is wrong.  In terms of an eye for a telling through pass, and initiating an attack, Cairney is one of the best players in the game.  He may play almost entirely using the one leg, but he is still more effective than most who use both.  Just not enough pace, exacerbated by his knee problems, for Premier League football, sadly.

Sting of the North

People who think TC's only strength is a good left foot, and as a consequence believes that he is some sort of luxury player does not understand the first thing of football. In my opinion. He is several classes above most players in this division, and we will always be a better team with him in it, assumlng he is reasonably fit. Thankfully Reed finally had a good game today, which means that we have a luxury problem for the midfield two.

Further, in my opinion TC does not compete with Carvalho but with Reed and Seri. In a tough game like today there may be a point I using Reed, but most games lately he has been more of a problem with his non-existent eye for a pass.

perry geyton

I thought he changed the game today

Personally I'd of started him
