What % of confidence do you have that we'll stay up?

everyone's got an opinion on how likely the squad we have and are building will stay up, but it tends to be determined by a black or white, yes/no.

But in reality whilst I for instance want us to stay up and feel we're in the best place we've been to do that, with 26 days of the transfer window still to go, my optimism for this is probably around the 50-50 mark.

I have no idea, we've been out of the league in any competitive sense since the Khan's took over and have had many false dawns, so perhaps a % of confidence in us staying up would be a better gauge.

In the past when we stayed up for 13 years consecutively I remember knowing where we stood and having a degree of confidence of where we would end up and stay up in the table and where we needed to improve to remain competitive.

In that regards I had 100%, or 70%+ confidence we'd stay up.

Whilst it's been refreshing this week to see three new defensive recruits come in and I think we've added PL quality etc in needed areas, I don't see our squad and go - right, that's more than enough quality to stay up. I'm trying to be realistic, but I see players or positions where I think - hmm, that's suspect/weak for what I think is needed to stay in the league.

Depth up front is one area, CB as many have mentioned is another, another AM/CM and another Winger too - of quality that we can be assured can offer something to us in this league which makes us competitive.

So, whilst those questions are slowly being answered and there are a few unknowns, I'm not sure I can look at every area of the squad and see one quality player and one dependable back-up, whilst there are a few new signing's in truth we've no idea how they'll perform - Duffy, Pereira and Solomon.

So i'm 50% and on the fence - what about you?

Presumably we'll be in good shape when the majority feel we have a 70%+ chance of staying up. I get the impression we're not there yet.

31 - 40% but ask me again after the window has shut when we know how many points have been won/lost in August.  A 5-game (13% of the season) period in which we do not have the required depth and are missing key players.

We have been promoted as Champions of the Championship with a system of play that passed opponents off the pitch.
We are well known for that which is not only a mandatory requirement for building a team to compete in the Premier League which opens other doors to cement our stay in this Division. It is also a basic requirement.
Therefore it's a question of not only reinforcing what is identified as the weaker positions, but it enables us to but plenty of meat on the spine and bones of the team as a whole in conjunction with giving the squad genuine depth.
Add some much needed height and physicality with leaders and warriors and characters and fighters and winners, which it appears is what is happening then we have more than a fighting chance, and if the rest of the cavalry come over the hill before the window is slammed shut, that fighting chance for me changes to a genuine chance and opportunity to finish anywhere between 11th and 17th.

when i observe the list of teams who are sharing this Division with us, i would say any three of ten could drop through the trap door come May 2023.

Therefore on that basis i give Fulham a very realistic 69% chance of staying up.

I was watching 'the overlap' on you tube yesterday and I noted that Jamie Carragher initially said we'd go down but then had a think, and he said Marco Silva would make it difficult for teams and he then changed his mind and said we'd stay up. I'm in the 41-50% though. It's going to be tough, and very tight points wise. I really hope we can get 16th or 17th place and we do have a chance of that.

16 out of 28 have us to go down, meaning a respectable 12 don't think we will. Surprised by that.

The beautiful football we saw in the Championship was a delight to behold, but what I feel will be the difference between staying up and going down is set piece goals. We improved markedly in that area last year. keep scoring them, and make sure we don't concede them, and we give ourselves a fighting chance. I went for 41-50% but ask me again at the end of the transfer window and after the first few games.

We have 3 players I'm viewing as top signings for a bottom 10 teams (Leno, Solomon, Palhinha) and usually having 3 high level players provides a very good basic to build a separation from the relegation battles, but the defence is such a huge question mark that it's really impossible to fully predict how things will turn out at the end. I believe we'll be able to create chances against any opponent, but how many games we'll be able to finish with a clean sheet?  However, I'm also confident we'll still sign at least 2 high quality players until the transfer window closes, and this leads me more towards the 60% mark

Either way, an exciting season ahead of us !

50% assuming we bring in some more quality, based on the current squad 20-30%. Competition will be very tough this season, barring Bournemouth I can't see too many lightweights.

I went for 51-60% - it will be tough but we essentially need to finish 7th in a league of about 10 teams to survive, which I think we should probably accept will represent a successful season. Many are commenting how many players Forest have signed but I don't think they are much different to us in the Slavisa season (lots of loans departing and signing much hyped players that may not necessarily cut the mustard). Even if they do well, there are lots of other teams that have lost influential players, which potentially adds more sides to the relegation mix than just needing to be better than the other 2 promoted sides + 1 other.

We have a new GK capable of playing in a Top 6 side and have strengthened our midfield, plus the youngsters have not looked out of place in pre-season. Although I understand the frustration behind the moaning and groaning that we have left it late to strengthen, we now have 5 signings in before the start of the season. It has been reported that Silva wanted 10 new faces in. However, I think it was unrealistic to expect all 10 in before Liverpool and I don't doubt there will be approximately 5 more in before the window ends, which will hopefully be of a high calibre like our late arrivals last time round (Areola, Andersen...)

The team looks united and won't want to be associated with a third successive top flight relegation. We have a manager that plays positive football, an in-form striker out to prove a point who was missing from the last PL campaign and are going up this time as Champions.

Firmly believe that we can finish ahead of three of Bournemouth, Forest, Leeds, Brentford, Everton and Southampton. I am slightly worried about the game tomorrow. I fear that some fans are going to overreact if we are well beaten. Liverpool will finish on 90+ pts this season. The game is a free hit. Important that people remember that.

I understand your cause for concern if there is an over reaction if we lose badly.
May i reassure you that the mindset of the players should be spot on and also relaxed.

Tomorrow has to be a play without fear anthem in the dressing room.

As a Manager i expect Silva will be dreaming of a glorious victory and even an ugly victory as long as we win.
However he is realistic enough to know that this is no picnic and if he can witness a fighting performance from the players with full commitment and application, and play their hearts out as a unit in conjunction with playing within the framework of the team.

Yet despite that we unfortunately fall short due to Liverpools big hitters finding their form and we go down by a small margin of one or two goals.
He will no doubt look at the positives, and there will be positives, and all the fans should remember the positives.
At this stage of proceedings there is no pressure, we have everything to gain and very little to lose.
Klop will not underestimate us, nevertheless if and for me it's a big IF, it is the manner of the defeat that Silva will be dissecting with his analogy.
