The £100 ticket

A couple of generalisations:
Most fans watch football because it's sport.
Most SUCCESSFUL football club owners run their club as a business.
The 2 approaches don't necessarily fit together well.
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

You have to bring people in. No-one will buy a season ticket off the bat without knowing his/her kids like the match experience.

Besides when it's clear we are staying up the Khans will bleed us s/t holders for all they can get. We won't be so happy then...

And how exactly will the Khans bleed us s/t holders? We have paid for our season tickets already.

I think the gentleman is suggesting, Fulham stay up, season tickets are increased heavily.

To those who say that there are plenty of cheaper tickets than £100, yes of course there are. However even the cheapest at around £50 (depending on which category match) are still expensive. And even more so when you consider how hopelessly dated the facilities are in areas like the Hammy End.
Don't get me wrong, I still buy some tickets every season and I'm fortunate in that I can afford it, but I am very conscious that some people are being priced out of the game and that's very unfortunate.

The answer is to have a ST especially if you live in London (Hammy £35 a game), those of us outside of London will struggle with escalated train fares to come from March. That will more than likely finish me being ST holder sadly and as mentioned above the prices of £50 to £100 will mean about 5 games a season tops.

"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

It is not a problem specific to Fulham; it is football generally, but above all the Premier League which is more about business than glory or pleasure in the the game these days.

There are tickets cheaper than £100, and if I were single, I would consider buying the occasional ticket for £60, but paying to take a family to a game is too much to ask.  It is of course a market, and there obviously people who think it is worth it, so I don't believe in agitating for a substantial price reduction.  My "protest" is simply not to go any more.  Surprisingly, I don't really miss it. A lot of the games are on live on TV, I can see highlights of the rest, and I don't feel I am shelling out massively to subsidise the lifestyle of outrageously overpaid footballers.

I thought I needed go to games, fairly regularly at least, but I'm coping  quite well with hardly ever going - at least we can listen to GJ and watch  many  games on TV.

It's hard for me to justify spending all that money, when the cheapest home tickets are about 50 quid, then there's fares.

I was seriously thinking going to the Palace game - since  Boxing Day football is the best thing about  Christmas for me, and you can't beat it - but this would have meant an early morning  coach for a five hour journey, then traveling back on the coach overnight - well I've done it plenty of times before, but the game was sold out-
and maybe that was for the best for me - not putting myself through  that  travelling, and saving the money, at least it's on Sky I think.

Something special about going to a Boxing Day game though!

Just a tip on this - the game is on Amazon Prime Video, rather than Sky. Hope you still get to watch it.

For 6 season tickets. I paid something like £1300. That was an adult, senior citizen and 4 kids.
Not sure what more you want the club to do. They reward loyal season ticket holders. If go spasmodically then it makes sense that those tickets will be more since those attendees are just as likely to be be fair weather, neutral , or corporate etc
I agree that the tickets are expensive but we have stayed at craven cottage, built an incredible new stand and are competing at the highest level of English football.
We all have choices. I still enjoy going to watch lower division and non league football. You will find that a kids season ticket is probably the same price at AFC Wimbledon ..

Its a serf mindset to rationalise your exploitation and I understand where it comes from for some of the contrarians defending fans being fleeced. But you cannot put lipstick on a pig. This is a foolish short term strategy which will hardly touch the sides of recuperating investment in the riverside stand

This isn't a discussion about the cost of season tickets and to dismiss other supporters' concern with an "I'm alright Jack" response is a bit smug. I was a ST holder for years and I agree that the cost is still reasonable. However there are plenty of fans, including myself these days, who cannot justify a season ticket for a host of perfectly good reasons. Sadly the cost of tickets for this large group of FFC supporters has skyrocketed (even with Fulham membership).

So true. You don't go from your first game to season ticket holder overnight. There has to be access. New generations of fans have to start somewhere.

It started with closure of Riverside I bought the subject up then and was criticized  by a lot of posters at the time for daring to criticize SK and my sentiments were spot on then and I feel the same now.

So you want your cake and eat it. You will not commit to a season ticket, whether on you own or shared. Circa £300 between 2 but want to go very occasionally and have access to cheap tickets.
We had that in the lower divisions when there were very poor crowds and the football was largely crap.
You can't have it all.
Another option was to buy a season ticket and then release some games back to the club to recoup some money.
Away games are maximum £30, which is also good value but appreciate you can't always get a ticket without having built up loyalty points etc.
Football has changed and yes it is expensive but I am afraid that is the way it is . I get tired of fans bashing the club and the owners. They are doing a good job.

There was lots of season tickets available when in the championship. If you had purchased one then you would have been guaranteed for for the premier League. Be loyal, commit to the club and the club rewards you back.

Sorry, are you offering to share a ST with me because if not I still suggest you sound smug.

Exactly, this is what annoys me the most about our fanbase. In the championship over the last few years we had so many seats in some games and loads of season tickets, where were the loyal fans then?

The reason they complain now is because they want to watch other top players in the league for cheap and it annoys them, and thats it
