Fulham 5/12
Draw 21/5
Southampton 13/2

Very decent odds for a Southampton win....this could be a draw, I'd imagine Southampton will either just go for it, or more likely they'll be concentrating on their defending this week..... I'm hoping Fulham don't just turn up, thinking they'll win

I'm going for

Fulham 4 - 0 Southampton 18/1

Last time a struggling team in a crisis came to the cottage they outplayed us and won 1-4, really hoping this isn't another banana skin. Burnley at home last match before Christmas wasn't much fun.

Shame Martin just got sacked ahead of this game.

Sunday will be our 1167th top flight game. Previously we have won games 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 5-0 and 6-0 (we've won six games by 5-0 and three games by 6-0). But in our 1166 top flight games we have never won a game 4-0, home or away. A curious stat.

Hatch007

That is a truly incredible stat!!!

Brilliant research. Thanks LR

Another thing to account for is that they have a midweek game vs Liverpool. Playing that extra game takes its toll on the lower level teams and challenges their depth. Its a Cup quarterfinal so guessing they play a solid squad and try to bounce back in front of home fans.

I like where this game falls on teh schedule. I was worried more about the game psychologically if Southampton didnt play midweek, but that game changes the dynamic a bit. I feel great about the weekend and our form.

3-1.

Will be an early Xmas present a win after a superb week results wise.

FFC In Oz

A year ago their caretaker manager was set piece coach at Forest.  Doesn't exactly have the best CV

will take any positive on our favour.

We need to win, we can't keep ****ing the bed when it comes to pushing for the top 6. A great result away at Liverpool, follow it on with a home win and it really starts to materilise.

I always feel uneasy forecasting scores like 4 0 for example or any score let alone forecasting a result. No matter who we play as the graveyard is full of optimistic forecasting because anything could happen on the day, it is the unexpected that is always a factor.
We could get a player sent off just like Liverpool on Saturday and suddenly the dynamics change.
Or a contentious penalty, an own goal, a worldy or an unforced error.
Nobody can anticipate or forecast any of those.
It is currently 0 0, and it could stay that way.
A lot depends how Fulham approach this match, however it also depends on what shape Southampton are in and has their confidence and team spirit reached rock bottom.
But it mainly depends how Fulham approach this match.
Forget about Chelsea, think about them after the game has finished.
Approach it like any other game, do not change the routine.
We have to show no mercy no matter who we play, and to have consistency we have to have good habits.
If we can win both halves we will win the game.
However we have to have the right attitude, Southamptons backs are against the wall, and they won't be coming to the Cottage to roll over and have their tummy's tickled.
That is why anything can happen, and i would love to see us win 4 0 and yes they may capitulate, on the other hand they may be stubborn and resilient and fight for their lives.
I am not particularly concerned about what they do, i am more concerned about what Fulham do as historically we have a habit of making a dogs breakfast of these matters.
If Fulham match Saints for workrate and application, then i would like to think our quality will bring back three points.
In other words if we play to our best and they play to their best, then Fulham should win.
I shall refrain from forecasting a scoreline, and will wait just wait for the outcome.
The more you convince yourself Fulham will win by just turning up the more disappointed you will be if they don't.
In the same way if you don't expect too much and just wait to see how it unfolds on the day,  and if Fulham do win  you will be even  more delighted.
Because as the great Jimny Greaves once said " it is a funny old game ", and i  have to agree it most certainly is.
