I read on the match centre FFC app Kevin subbed on.Did he look as useful as the last time? Very little comments regarding him

No. He wasn't as electric as he was last week but he was lively and had some cracking touches.  I love the idea of the lad but people got way too carried away about him over a 15 minute cameo last weekend.

Fingers crossed it all comes good!

The Little Dave

I got very lucky to win a raffle for two tickets in the Matchday Plus section of the Riverside. Behind me was 4 Brentford fans and one of them was on it all game.

At one point he was chanting with the Brentford and maybe around 15 mins and that was too much, I told him to pipe down. When Brentford scored he celebrated, his friends didn't (fair play to them). Obviously from there it was pure joy, I didn't do or say anything else, they still clapped when someting went there way, etc... but when the final whistle blew I turned around and said FFC appreciates the £800 donation.

I'm a bit drunk now so apologies but damn that was worth it.

The defence batted away nearly everything Brentford threw at them all game long (including I dunno how many long throw-ins and 10 corners !) Credit to Andersen and co  ::wine::

Gave MOM to Iwobi though - scored 1, set up the crucial 2nd, and put an all important arm round Josh in the centre circle when he was obviously feeling like crap after the goal.

Special mention to Harry - is that 4 goals in the last 3 games vs Brentford? The Bees must be sick of the sight of him !  ::scarf::

I thought we invited pressure at times with some sloppy passes in our half of the pitch. But overall we rolled over them. I also think it's worth noting that King responded really well after his early mistake - I also liked the fact that everyone run over to him after they scored to make sure he was okay.

I do wonder though if ESR will play his way into the lineup - I think he might get his chance soon.

Agreed SL. I'm not his greatest fan but he destroyed B'ford last night. The through ball for Wilsons goal was Cairneyesque. Lots of endeavour and no little skill. Voted for him but a shoutout to the defence for nullifying the Wimbledon/Stoke bombardment. How can people watch that crap every game i don't know.

Does anyone know why Robinson wasn't in the match day squad yesterday?

Woolly Mammoth

Iwobi for me ran his socks off and played his heart out. A real talisman last night. His work rate was second to none.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

I don't think we've seen anything of him since his injury and surgery? So I assume his recovery has been tougher than was originally suggested. It does make me wonder why we didn't book him in to have it done sooner after it became clear towards the end of last season that we weren't qualifying for Europe.

He was on the bench vs Chelsea and came on but an unused sub vs Leeds.  I'm guessing he has had some sort of set back then.

Sess for me. He had his best game by far this season, but could make a case for virtually the whole team.

Quote from: HobGoblin on September 20, 2025, 11:44:15 PMSo a draw between burnley and forest goes before a victory for us in a derby game on motd... joke of a service

To be fair with an 8pm KO and a 10pm finish, can't blame MOTD that starts at 10:30 having us on last with little analysis

KentFulham

Iwobi, Sess or Tete really. Can't see how Robinson gets a starting place right now. Muniz agree with some that he was poor in the 1st, ok in the second but service also dried up in the 2nd as we sat back

Brief and to the point..I don't think so

Ronnief

Great performance by the team and except for a couple of dodgy moments completely out played them. Sess was my MOM but all played well.

Totally agree!
VAR officials are interfering unnecessarily (to justify their existence?) and referees are weak or just stupid.

we wear the wrong colour shirsts to get a decision like that. Personally I thought they were both going for the ball and the Brentford defender was less strong but Muniz missed the ball and it struck the Brentford player... it's like so many things in football totally ridiculous that is not allowed.

At the risk of sounding like the old man that used to sit at the end of the row in a flat cap smoking Woodbine, I used to, we all used to know, what a foul and hand ball were, I knew when a player was offside. Odd refs would let a bit more go and others a bit less but we all knew what a foul and hand ball was. Now I doubt anyone knows.

VAR is not the issue but they surely use it wrong.

Ah ok.

WindyCity

Very well played game by all.  Even King looked lively after the gaffe.  I'm really becoming more impressed with Sessegnon and his play in Robinsons' position.  Becoming very solid in that role and have to give cap tip to the lad.  Nice game, Brentford did not look like they threatened, although that one long throw almost snuck in.  Good game defensively by back four, great first touch strike by Wilson on what proved to be the winner.

WindyCity

Also nice to see players willing to take that long shot.  Both Lukic and Iwobi tried shots early on from distance, but were immediately blocked.  And Lukic later took one that he pulled wide.  Need to see more shots taken from distance, and hope we see more of this moving forward.

SerbianLad

Superb performance and a superb result too.

Leno - I don't think he had to do much. Some dexent punches.

Tete - Completely neutralised their left side. When he's in form like he is now, he's pretty much unplayable. I can't think of a right back I'd start over him in our system. Thank god we renewed his contract.

Andersen - He's been outstanding this season bar the Manchester United game. Another terrific performance.

Bassey - he gave me a scare or two with some questionable passing/dribbling choices, but was superb for most of the game.

Sess - his best game ever as a leftback, imo. Great both defensively and offensively. His excellent cross resulted in our 3rd goal too.

Berge - much improved performance from some of his performances this season (he wasn't bad in those either, just not as good as he was last season). Got forward much more in this game too, which seemed planned, probably as Brentford were playing extremely defensively. His height helped a lot when it came to defending set pieces and long throw ins.

Lukic - had one very poor pass, luckily it was near the half way line so we managed to deal with it. Otherwise, great performance from him. Lots of energy and much more offensive performance from him. Tried his luck from distance 3 times too, got blocked two times, but the second time he got blocked ended up with a goal after Muniz's great work. Some excellent deliveries from corners too.

King - started the game well enough. Then unfortunately, he made a terrible mistake that directly resulted in Brentford's goal. However, that actually seemed to have a positive effect on his performance, imo. Was one of our best players after that mistake. He seemed really motivated to right the wrong. The penalty incident could have gone either way, I'm not too bothered by it. I don't think he should have been booked for it though. Not as effective in the second half and because he was also booked, right decision from Marco to sub him off first.

Wilson - the difference between his performance yesterday and against Leeds was night and day. And it's not only because of the goal he scored. He was a threat throughout the match. Should have got an assist too, had Muniz's goal not been overturned.

Iwobi - another player who improved massively in comparison to the Leeds game, and just like with Wilson, it's not even his goal and assist, his overall performance was significantly better. Excellent finish for his goal and an even better assist for Wilson's goal.

Muniz - I thought he was brilliant. Instrumental in both of our goal, both wouldn't happen if he didn't work his socks off. His finish for his goal was delightful. I can't believe they ruled it out. His back was turned, he had no clue where Collins was. From one angle it even seems like Collins pulls Muniz towards himself. I think the blood on Collins' face was the only reason they disallowed it.

Subs:
All of them did a decent job. None of them really got a chance to do much as it seemed like we were playing it safe after the disallowed goal by Muniz. Special mentions to Cuenca, who looked great in very little time on the pitch, and to Kevin, who, although not as impressive as against Leeds, had some incredible moments of ridiculous dribbling skills.
