Craven Mad

I like Noa Lang a lot. I'm surprised that Napoli are reportedly giving up on him so quickly.

Would be a good signing for us IMO.

bencher

He looked quality for PSV, haven't seen him for Napoli.

He's been good when he's played tbh. From what I've seen anyway. Seems to play pretty well when he does play,  looks decent to me but not working with Contes system perhaps

Apparently he doesn't see eye to eye with conte (many such cases) and I think he spoke out a few months back about his frustration with lack of game time.

Quality player to be honest and would be very happy if we got him but surprised he moved on so quick, would suggest the situation with context isn't great.

Would make our LW options very good

Something I've seen rumoured about him is attitude problems.....Not just in relation to Conte. Wonder if its just a bad rep scenario.

Yeh did some digging with a Napoli fan and looked online

He's definately one to file under being "a character". Mixture of "misunderstood/passionate" and "full of himself" comments depending on who you ask. Ultimately just wants to play and believes he's good enough to do so.

PSV fans saying he has a bit of an "F you ill show you" mentality and is a bit of a maverick, which makes him a very good player, but also comes with the sort of attitude you have to be aware of and accept about him to some degree...

Interesting. Considering how close our unit feels with good vibes perhaps it's one to be cautious about. At 26 it may be that such a move matures him at this stage of life but who knows.

For now it's unlikely anyway

This is taken from Lang's Wikipedia page:

In May 2021, a video circulated online showing Lang joining an antisemitic chant of the Club Brugge supporters aimed at rival Anderlecht, who is seen as historically linked to the Jewish community.[27] He was investigated by the Royal Belgian Football Association. While ignoring calls to apologize,[28] Lang justified his chantings with supporters as "a nickname" claiming that "racism and prejudice are well known to me [...] I didn't want to offend anyone with that. I'm done with the subject and won't be revisiting it." Lang, who played with Ajax, before joining Club Brugge, was defended by the team's organisation claiming that "there was no anti-Semitic undertone".[29] The Club Brugge fans have been noticed by the press for racist chants.[30]
The RBFA condemned his behavior, the Belgian Foreign Minister Sophie Wilmès declared: "Unacceptable, unbearable and it has no place in our society. We must fight it as vigorously as all other forms of racism", political parties condemned the chant, while he was obliged by the Federal prosecutor's office to visit the Kazerne Dossin Centre as a disciplinary measure.[31]

Yeh it's a bit like the spurs being called y**s (and calling themselves as such) I gather. He shouldn't have joined in really but was singing along with fans chanting after a win. Also played at Ajax that apparently call themselves the same thing. Who knows. He definitely has an ibrahimovic-esque arrogance to him. Which is one thing when you're on top and doing well but can quickly turn sour if you aren't backing it on the pitch. Super talented but might well be deemed too much of a risk.

Yeah agree with this, I don't buy the link really as it feels like the club have made a point of a no ego policy which has been important for our harmony and stability.

Boro want £30m for Hackney so feel like unless we offer them player plus cash that one is likely a non-starter in Jan

Harrison Reed plus £5m would see us in court for scamming them :slap:  :slap:

Ugh, fine. Chuck Adama in there.

I would love Nwaneri, think he is the best out of the wing options we have been linked with. Really rate him but would sighing him mean we have to sign Chukwueze permanently? Are we allowed 2 loans or 4?
Suspect we would only be in for him if Adama left but would be a huge upgrade..

Kevin, Chuk, Harry, Sess and Nwaneri would be serious level wing options but only Kevin and Sess are currently guaranteed to be here next year, assuming the club exercises its one-year option with Sess.

That's before the other existing squad members that can cover LW in particular such as Iwobi and ESR.
