Do we know what the fee would be for Chuk?

More likely means we don't sign Wilson

€25 million

That is actually extremely cheap considering how every time I see him he's either scoring, assisting or nearly doing either.

St Eve

Let's concentrate on signing Chuk, Marco, Wilson and yes Raul. If we can get Bobb great. Pepi, I don't know much about. Oh of course Palhinha in the summer

Don't think that's the case at all man. Can't see a world in which we don't take that option at 22m

Likely Adama is gone at a couple mil pure profit, which means well need 1 more to have 4 out and out wingers still at least. Allegedly we were comfortable ffp wise and had some money to spend so there it is seemingly. No guarantees either that Wilson stays at this stage. Chuk and Bobb can both play either wing (and Bobb is left footed)

Suspect we sell Diop and Castagne this summer + possibly reed.

Those 3 + Raul is a lot of wages off the roster and maybe 10-20m in transfer fees. Then perhaps we look for cheap deals or loans if we need anything else for the squad then.

Luc DF in Diop out
Castagne out - main summer expenditure at RB
Reed out - Ridgeon in and or loan deal with option
Raul out - JKA in for 12m or renew raul as third choice

Other than that, squad would already be in a good place. More so if we can add a Sara/atta

Going on Sportrac (yes I know it's not reliable but it's not bad as a guide) Chuk is on £120k per week and Wilson £55k. Which to me sounds about right.

So I think there's a deal to be made with Wilson - surely the club will agree he's earned some massive uplift on that.

Chuk on the other hand is gonna be expensive, close to our highest earner plus among the top 10 highest transfer fees we've paid.

Don't get me wrong, I do think we'll make Chuk perm (and extend Wilson) but then I can't also see us shelling out £60m on Pepi and Bobb in the same 6-month period, albeit technically across two different seasons, with us still needing a RB and CM (IMO) this summer.

I have a feeling our intention may be Pepi OR Bobb this window rather than both.

If that's the case, I really hope it's Bobb. As I've said numerous times, Pepi deal makes no sense to me and I'd be very disappointed if it happens.

To be fair in this financial year we've not really spent much, so you could argue that spending big in Jan addresses the tiny summer '25 outlay, and if we trigger the option with Chucky after June then technically it falls into another accounting year I think? Otherwise meaning that from a revenue standpoint we've deferred one key signing to next year for PSR/SCR POV

Doesn't seem to be the case to me, they play completely different positions and we've supposedly lodged bids for both

Bobb is allegedly on 50k at city, so won't be on mad wages

Between Raul, Diop, Reed, Castagne,Adama... You maybe shed over 300k per week by the time SCR comes into effect. And even then there's a bit of leeway timing wise before facing any real repurcusion

We already pay Chuk so thats no change

Bump Wilson to 110k (+60k)
Bobb at say 70k matches adama (=)
Pepi in (+80k? - he's currently on around 55k allegedly)

So that's +140k on current wage bill.

Luc DF a huge saving on Issa (-50k)
Someone like Van Ewijk would be attainable on similar or lower wages to a Castagne  (=)
JKA on low wages saves on raul.(-80k)
Ridgeon for reed (we already pay Seth minimal amount so -50k)

Saving off wage bill:
180k

So those moves would mean around 40k better off pw

Add a Sara or Atta and you're probably minorly increasing the wage bill in total.

+ 20-25m or more in transfer fees to offset about 130m spent on those buys

Seems plausible to me

On the transfer revenue front as well; we sold AP & Godo which generated about £17m, we're likely to get £2-3m for Adama so lets call that £20m total. We then would've got a payment from Birmingham as they had a promotion clause in the Stansfield deal which was somewhere between £2-5m so lets call that £3m plus all the loan fees we'll have accumulated for the players we've sent out, which probably amounts to £1m+ given the sheer volume and a fair few going to championship & L1/2 clubs.

Given all of that incoming money (I don't think I've missed anyone but not 100% sure) we've probably had a net spend of about ~£10m so far, so committing to sppend another £90m in Jan would probably put it in the ballpark of an average PSR year overall. Given that we know we could probably flog Bassey, Jedi, King, Iwobi, ESR, Muniz and Chucky (if we took the £25mish option up and sold him straight away for more than that given his form so far) all for good money if need be to make up some revenue from sales in the summer, it means we're probably in a fairly healthy spot to invest.

No better source really for Fulham news. So we know pretty much for certain we've made multiple significant bids for pepi again.

They're gonna hold out for 30 aren't they 😅
Pepi will get done.the others who knows.

Let Pepi take the throw ins couldn't be any worse than the other players

Not with our 'scouting' system.

With all the wingers we have been linked with perhaps it's going to be Leno + 10 wingers.

I wasn't suggesting they were alternatives for the same position, just that we could probably only afford one. We often let the market/finances decide which positions to improve and which to defer until later.

Anyway I don't disagree with your sums or Deepings. Just think it would be a bit of a departure from our generally limited spending of about £20m net for the last few years, to about £80m this year, particularly with Chuk already pencilled in next summer (hopefully) too.

Not that I'd complain
