Quote from: Bassey the warrior on Today at 08:59:27 AMAs frustrated as I've been with Silva's decisions at times this season, it boggles the mind some people would be happy to see him leave.

We're safe and stable, and whilst it would be good to win something you just need to look at the teams that have regularly played European football but are now in a relegation battle. Stability is underrated.

On the flip side of that though is would Siva stay at a comfortable mid table prem team? When we've had a chance to do well in the cups or seriously go for a euro place we blow it. The longer Silva stays at Fulham with mid table finishes the more he'll get bored and more fans will want a change.

The dinasaurs extinction was marco's fault
Global warming, his fault too
Covid? Down to Marco
Global plague and pestilence...also his fault.

Bizarely he managed to get us promoted in a record fashion, kept us safe for all these season with a squad of questinable talent, and one of the lower wage bills, almost exactly representing our league position compared to others.

I think Marco is a  magician to keep us where we are with the squad we have. If we are to kick on we need some more concerted action from our leaders... Marco's hands are tied just like all the previous managers but he is better than they were.

I hate to think who might follow him based on previous appointments.

The owner and Marco should surely have come to terms by now, I cannot believe they have not just agreed to disagree and do not want to make the announcement until season end.
that's my worry who follows Marco as we won't see his like again.
People said the same when Roy Hodgson departed.

They did and whilst Hughes did well, Jol was awful and we went backwards very quickly.

And then we got Slav and all went well then we got promoted then we got relegated then we got promoted then we got relegated then we got promoted. We have nothing to be afraid of if Silva leaves. As people keep saying we are a comfortable mid table prem team we are going to be attractive to a lot of managers and I'm sure SK has learned from previous appointments.

I prefered Slav to Marco, unfortunately he did not get enough support from the club as he would have liked. Also he had to put up with Tony Khan interfering with Slavs day to day running of the team. Along with the owners sons best mate whose name escapes me, i think his surname is Kline. Anyway twice Kline was sent back to the USA because this loud mouth was irritating staff including Slav, no wonder Slav never smiled. Eventually the Khan Juniors best mate got removed perminately.

Slav used to complain about transfers, I was told that they had monthly meetings to discuss things including transfer options, but apparently Slav refused to attend. He was I understand a very very stubborn man. (Allegedly).

Mr White Knight, your thinking of Craig Kline, ex Assistant Director of Football.
Seems a long time ago now.
He met his Waterloo on a Sunny Autumn afternoon at Motspur Park. I am to understand whilst sitting on a bench, two members of the local Constabulary appeared and felt his collar, and accompanied him down to the local Nick for a friendly chat.

Quote from: Deeping_white on April 14, 2026, 03:21:56 PMApparently Palace interested in Iraola and rumblings that a club that offers him an ambitious budget in the PL could snag him. Based on that then if Silva isn't committing to the club you'd surely offer Iraola the same salary and a big kitty and see if he can take us to the next level

Why on earth would Iraola come to Fulham? He's leaving to join a BIG club such as cash rich Newcastle who have Saudi owners or maybe Barcelona (in today's Marca newspaper)...or just go home to Bilbao which is being heavily touted, to take over there. There's no projected big kitty for next season at the Cottage and no next level. Mid or top half of the table is no mean feat which has been achieved time and time again by Silva. Can't understand this desire to see the back of a thoroughly decent man, football coach and Fulham's manager whose been a great ambassador the club as well as being consistent, well respected in the game and a safe pair of hands.

Lawrie Sanchez is available as well as Felix 'The Cheese' Magath. Then there's Igor Tudor or soon to be Scott Parker.
Thank you SuperFreeman. Absolutely.

And I would just add that we don't know what went on in the contract negotiations. And whatever, it doesn't really impact on what you've said. I hope it sorts itself and Silva stays.

You have to give credit to teh board at Burnley

They got promoted under Parker with a great redord and knew they would not survive in the Premiership but have stuck with him come hell or high water

This does mean the pressure is on him next year to get promoted again

There is no excuse for not blooding youngsters that is if we have some good enough to blood.Owners should know that for money paid for our transfers isn't enough Arsenal top of the league blood them,so does Man City,Man U.,chelsea.Our accademy has been going for nearly 20years and really hasn't produced many.
Silva has picked king whether knowing he is not ready yet his style isn't suited what we need at the moment.Whether he wants youth or not a club of our size has to use good youngsters, for silva to survive at the top level he has to adjust, surely over spending at Everton and failing and he's doing the same slowly here,if the director's can't see what's coming they need to sell up.Oh I hope silva reads this.
