If only one signed a new contract, who would you choose?

If only one could sign a new contract..... who would you choose?

Marcus

Love H to bits - but Marco all day long - he's become the beating heart of this football club. If I was Khan I'd promise him the use of his yacht all summer for him and his family - no - actually I'd give him the yacht!

WindyCity

To be honest, a bit non plussed about the whole thing.  Whether or not Wilson stays with club, either way, stay or leave, fine by me.  Same with MS.  I'm sure there are plenty of other coaches that could take the reins at FFC and do a creditable job.  If he stays, also fine with me, and would be more smooth heading into next season, for continuity.
I note in today's Fulham Stuff that MS hinting/sniffing/looking at the Real Madrid job.  I think MS is a good coach and man manager, but, really?  Real Madrid?  I can't see that happening, but, I guess ya never know...

HobGoblin

Not overly bothered about both. As they have not bothered to think of us. There are other managers and other players that are better, I'm sure club will be fine without both of them

Zoppa77

Great win over the Villains.
Pick 1?  Silva every day, although I think he's gone.
The whispers of him going to Madrid could be his 'wonderful' agent doing his job very well.

Bit of a no brainer - Marco is the manager and has no real shelf life at his age if he keeps performing or getting better as a manager. He's proven he can get results, just needs backing.

Harry, as good as he's been this season - and if it was out of the two of them - which it isn't, but is the point of the question - has only had one good season and is getting older for his position.. He may have a few more years in him, but if you bring in Chuk, Bobb, Kevin, ESR, Iwobi.. he's more expendable out of the two. If he goes to Villa I don't think he'll be a starter either.

Somerset Fulham

It is amazing isn't it?

All the threads and posts on here as soon as we drop some points about getting rid of Marco, and yet when its a straight choice between him and our best player (on form this season) it's a no brainer.

Few people taking over and making a lot of noise at every opportunity, it would seem.

Well for sure Harry is gone, Marco I believe is but if we squeak into Europe that may change.

Given that far more people have viewed this thread than voted may suggest a sense of apathy a lot of fans have towards them due to the will he won't he farce.

It may not be apathy, more that its another thread on the same topic, which multiple people have created new threads of to discuss the same issue and everyone's shared their opinion.

It likely less apathy about the situation (hence the high read/view rate), but more about the fact the op is regurgitating the same point made countless times before

I don't think there is any "will he won't he farce" about Marco's situation. He's under contract, is clearly fully engaged and committed so what's he done wrong? He is perfectly entitled to keep his negotiations with our club entirely private. I fail to understand why some on here think they have some god given right of access to what is going on between Marco and the club.
That said, of course I would have preferred everything to be sorted much earlier, the uncertainty isn't helpful. However it's just the messiness of the end of a contract and it will be what it will be.

Holders

It isn't like that, though, is it? Each will make up their own mind and allegedly Harry is leaning towards Villa. We'll see, we have no inside track into their personal business. I'll be sorry to lose either but there are other fish in the sea.

But this is the only one I've seen with a poll and people still don't vote.

If we were a company on the stock market, I know we are not, then shareholders - fans in our case - want to have confidence that the CEO/Marco is going to be around to take the company forward. Season ticket sales may depend on who and when an announcement is made, Pepi may decide not to come of Marco isn't here. There a lot of things to take into consideration as to when any announcement is made. What a boost it would be for the fan base to know that Marco has signed a 5 year deal, that plans are in place to really take the club forward to a level we can only dream about.

No we aren't entitled to know what is going on but he has been offered a new contract but for whatever reason he isn't signing/delay in announcing he has or hasn't. At the end of the day we are shareholders and will be here long after Marco moves on. Knowing that the future of the club is safe in his hands can only be a good thing but the longer it goes on there will uncertainty and doubt.

Marco without a doubt. Wilson has had a good season but he is replaceable.

Marco is essential to our premier league survival. I feel without him we will be in a relegation battle next year

This.

WindyCity

Actually, they're both replaceable....

SerbianLad

Marco without a doubt. As I said previously, I hope Marco becomes our version of Wenger/Ferguson and stays here for a very long time.

From his latest interview, it seems to me like he'll stay if we get Europe, but it's 50/50 if we don't.

As far as Wilson is concerned, he's a quality player, but no player is as important as the manager, so I'd pick Marco in this scenario, but, obviously, I'd prefer it if both stayed. I'm not sure what Wilson will do though, as Aston Villa can probably offer him more money + Champions League football.
