I think it would be a great appointment. Only an elite coach could reach Real Madrid manager position so he's definitely highly rated and he's worked with some of the best managers in the world. This is an ambitious appointment that would inspire me and would definitely attract players that would take us to the next level.

His knowledge and reputation in Spanish football would make us an attractive destination for anyone coming from La Liga and although it didn't quite work out at Madrid I remember being very impressed when they thrashed City under him this season

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking him but he is not "an elite coach". Just look at his experience to date.
Maybe you can enlighten us all to the experience Mikel Arteta had on his first day at Arsenal?
He didn't do too bad last season did he ? πŸ˜‰

Well since you quite clearly already know you hardly need "enlightening" do you!

Oh yes, and read my post properly please. Where did I suggest whether he would or would not "do too bad"? I argued that he isn't an elite coach. And given his limited experience and lack of silverware I think that's a fair and reasonable argument.
Thats twice now that you've questioned any perceived lack of experience whilst at the same time avoiding my reference to Arteta,
Arteta had very limited experience when he arrived at Arsenal and look at how he turned out,
Iraola, Glasner and Le Bris had no knowledge of the Premier League whatsoever between them and yet all three had a much better season than Marco Silva with his vast experience of the Premier League,
I guess they all have to start somewhere 🀷
Pardew and Dyche have incredible Premier League experience but hopefully we wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Pep Guardiola is an elite coach, Jose Mourinho is an elite coach,Arsene Wenger was an elite coach, managers that have the capability of managing the World's greatest teams for a significant amount of years,
Chelsea are an elite Club to put someone like Liam Rosenior in charge who hadn't even reached the level of "good" manager yet was always doomed to failure, hence why the likes of Cole Palmer immediately switched off, certain clubs need a certain level of manager,
We're not an elite level club so with us there is a certain level of flexibility, Pochettino is as close as we would ever get to having an elite level coach, though Roy Hodgson was very close.

I agree that they are, but how do they get there without a chance? And they are elite because they got a chance and learned things through their management career.

I'm not a fan of Poch only ever won anything in France, may have had some good seasons elsewhere too but then a lot of managers have that too. As I said I am not against him And would take Poch right now for sure but not sure I'd put him in the category right below those you mentioned.

I have no idea who we should go for and who we shouldn't, what I know is not everyone will be happy with who we appoint. They are not English, they haven't won anything, they wont attract big names the list will go on.for me I think that whoever is making the decision needs to look at our squad and find a manager who can work with them bas3d o. What we all know. If that's Poch and he seems to fit for sure then great, if that's Aberloa then great if that's Amorim I'm not so sure based on his preferredset up.

So fingers crossed it all works out

And again for clarity I don't disagree with anything you have said but was just curious

Technically speaking you could put anyone who's consistently managed in the PL and Championship as an elite coach when compared to the significant numbers of people who coach around the world.

If you're using elite in terms of the best of the best, then Pochettino for what he achieved at spurs and PSG would straddle that bracket at the very least, or be at the middle end of the bracket.. with the very top bracket being for the likes of Ferguson, Wenger, Ancelotti, Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp, Simeone, etc - truly era defining coaches who dominated and were a mark above their peers in their domestic leagues but also proved their credentials in Europe over sustained periods.

Pochettino would arguably be the most impressive coach we would have secured in my lifetime in terms of arriving as a name, up their perhaps with Martin Jol and Ranieri.

Whilst I personally loved Ranieri growing up, I think he was past it when he came to us and it didn't work.

So I'd say perhaps Jol is the only out and out comparable.

Obviously Hodgson did wonders for us and had a name for himself, but it wasn't one that carried weight or notoriety within the broader fan base in the UK before he joined. Silva is obviously someone who worked wonders for us too and goes in as our second best manager of the PL era.

Bronaldinho

Tactically I think Arbeloa could be quite a good appointment - but it is a risk.

Played a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-4-2 at times.

If there's a chance he'll bring the 4-4-2 to Fulham, I'd be all for it. I would have loved to have seen us have two strikers on the pitch at some times under Silva.

two strikers would be interesting as we'd either need to buy two more this summer or play an AM as a trequartista running off the shoulder of the 9.Β  Could be Iwobi- he plays well centrally.Β  Perhaps a role King could grow into, although he might need more bulk.

There were reports he was willing to pay 4 million himself if they would reduce the release fee to that. If we are willing to pay the other half and he is willing to pay half the. I thought surely it could happen. But reports of h8m being willing to do that could be wide of the mark

This is a Damian Duff, right? The Duffer. Great player, didn't realise he was buildung a career in coaching.
Is Bjarne Goldbaek coaching as well by any chance?
A trinity of Duff, Goldbaek and Boa Morte would be an attack based on heaven!!!

Feels oddly like a boa morte scenario re having a high quality PL winger come in to join the attacking coaching staff...

Concern lies in the fact that they didn't even bother to mention his Europa League final appearance for us in their bio of Duff, which by his own standards would be a career highlight.

They're not that petty, surely?
