High fees, long-term relationship with manager and someone Fulham seem very keen on signing..

Who is the player and what are his merits? to discuss further..

Initial headlines

Gonzalo Garcia - 22yr old striker, Real Madrid

According to transfermarkt, Garcia 'played' in 30 La Liga games last season, scoring six goals and getting one assist. On closer look he got those G/A figures by largely playing in minutes terms 10.5 games, which perhaps puts more sense to the reason Real value him so highly - though three of those came in a Hat-trick performance vs Real Betis, averaging 25 minutes per game over the 38 games in La Liga.

He also got two goals and two assists in cup competitions, most notably scoring and assisting goals against Barcelona as Real lost 3-2 in the Supercopa Final.

On the international side he has represented Spain through the age groups U18, U19, U21 and has represented the senior side and recent world cup winners once, securing his cap earlier this year in June against Iraq.

Randomly is the grandnephew of Spanish American actree Rita Hayworth, who some may remember here.

His record for Real across the two seasons he's slowly started to get embedded to their first team reads

24-25 season - 10 games and 5 goals
25-26 season - 39 games and 8 goals

Throughout the 24-25 season he also played for Real Madrid Castilla where he scored 25 goals in 36 games, which perhaps shows more his goal scoring nature, though at a much lower level.

He'll be great , dont think the fee is as high as 70m€ .Madrid get first refusal if we sell & maybe a % sell on

I'm confident he's a step up on John Watson 😉👍🏻

Loved that when Jimmy Hill discussed Cole's signing he said that if he could score goals he would be worth a million. That was our new forward!!!

This kid is going to be fun to watch. Congratulations to the club for a quality transfer.

I like that in the comments on YT someone described him as reminiscent of Benzema. Exactly what we need.

I'm really looking forward to seeing a Fulham striker with pace, touch, guile and a threat in the air.

Everything I hoped Muniz would evolve into. Who knows, he still might but time is running out.

The best case scenario is that GG's arrival has the same impact on Muniz's form as that of Broja

Talksport actually got one right,I posted yesterday that they said the deal was nearly over the line. ::thumb::

Where is it confirmed please?
The world is made up of electrons, protons, neurons, possibly muons and, definitely, morons.

Not officially yet but the Spanish equivalents of Ornstein have all confirmed that it's done and agreed which is about as unofficially official as it gets

Since we got relegated from the PL in 2014, I count the following permanent striker signings (from memory):

McCormack
Smith
Fonte
Kamara (but played wide mostly)
Mitrovic
Muniz
Vinicius
Jimenez
JKA

Not a lot for 12 years. Hopefully with GG, Muniz and JKA we will be well set for a few more years.

It's all over Twitter but nothing from Fulham yet. Garcia looks great and most reliable sources seem to be indicating 40mill euro plus 2mill add ons with a 30% sell on. Most agree he is excellent although some make criticism that we may have overpaid due to linked business relationships. Also a lot of noise about Cesar Palacios who looks good and on brief cameo shots indicate that he plays a bit like a young TC.

If true and managed well with no favouritism this could also be good for team dynamics with several good 'team within a team' relationships already e.g. Nigerian and Arsenal relationships and Academy history relationships. Assuming these guys get on well they will have a built in support system including Alvaro

Ryanair I assume? Best get them ready for our low-budget setup as early as possible.
