I don't think we undervalue our players.

I don't believe Roma will succeed with a €50M bid for Kevin. Atalanta failed with a €40M offer for Muniz last summer. Palhinha and Mitrovic both sold for significant amounts two and three years ago respectively. The fee Birmingham paid for Jay Stansfield was generally regarded on here as good business. We placed a high price tag on Robinson a few seasons back to fend off interest from the likes of Manchester City.

We're no mugs when it comes to selling our assets too cheaply.

There's always a risk signing players with knee injuries as we've seen in the past with Mawson and Kongolo. TC has had knee problems which has meant him missing numerous games. I hope it's not too serious with Pitarch.

He only just finished playing in the u19 Euros 3 weeks ago (not as if he's not played since May) - where he was the best CM in the tournament and is currently rated as one of the best young talents in Europe. He also started in home and away victories over Man City last season in the Champions League and was a regular for Madrid in the league at the age of 19.
But you would pass on him because he may miss .. 3 games at the start of the season?

But, it's not one that needed surgery at least and he's very young so in theory you'd hope he'll be fine.

He's been pretty much top of my list along with Garcia of the RM boys since we found out about Arbeloa so really hoping this goes through. Worth the risk

I'm not sure whether other countries have rules regarding what you can spend but clubs sailing close to the wind financial are probably inflating prices to keep within the rules and give that club some spending money. Hence the high prices we're seeing for younger players who may or may not succeed and maybe decidedly average.
Issy and Sasa are reliable Premiership players on strong salaries but realistically have no sell on value. So their appeal in part is just to keep a team up.

That makes no sense. TC doesn't have a long history of injuries. He was out for a total of 2-3 weeks last season and before that his last injury was in 2023 and before that was in 2021.

It's a bit more than our money back on a 30 year old player who has been solid but not set the world alight. Good deal in my opinion.
