We absolutely shouldn't be selling Robinson this close to the season starting. LB is a position a lot of clubs struggle with and any fee for Robinson should reflect that.

If he goes for 15m as suggested above I'll be furious, because no way will we replace him for that.

If we get Charles and a CB in this week then we will be totally fine. Will need another CM and a RW to get to a 25 man squad but I wouldn't be super bothered if we take those close to deadline day.

If Robinson is going to leave it's got to be for at least £30m and we would have to bring in someone like Myles Lewis-Skelly as a replacement who would likely cost £40-£50m. I don't see either happening.

Expect we tie this one up. Sadly Pitarch looks like he's staying at Real now unless they bring in another CM. Real shame really ...expect we move for Jordan James if that doesn't materialise but will probably be a late move by looks of things

It's been en proved that points wise, teams who do their business earlier don't tend to profit from it.

Happy for you to elaborate Jim but I would very much struggle to accept that. Common sense tells you it's better for a player to have a full pre-season to get fit without interruption and adapt to a new setting, new tactics and new teammates, rather than a day or two. I'd guess any "study" is skewed by other factors, e.g., the earliest movers often being the newly-promoted clubs because they need the biggest overhaul.

Disagree that he didn't look good, and I watched every game.    Difference in their last game was that Belgium pressed unlike the other teams the USA played.  Pressing made Tim Ream's deficiencies show up.  USA played with 3 CB and didn't use Jedi like Marco used Jedi.

Not sure why you think the LB spot, which is arguably the strongest on the team between Sess and Jedi, give Fulham the freedom to let either of them go.  There are going to be injuries during a season, and fortunately for Fulham they have two experienced LB that are above average for what they do.

There are several other positions on this side that need to be fixed before the LB spot.  Lost our (arguably) best CB at dealing with the ball in the air.  Still have an unproven #9...backed up by an average at best #9... Spent tons of money on our wide attacking spots and neither of them has proven to be consistent at the top level...

I would rather a better solid LB and leave Sess/Kevin to run the left further up versus AR bombing down the pitch only to swing a cross into row Z

Hopefully our new manager will use him better.

Talk Sport reckon we are nailed on for relegation

if talk sport are saying that I will be sticking £100 on us to win the treble.
That said at this moment in time I am not hugely confident for the coming season, a few new signings and that and anxiety may receed.
Yesterday was the first time Bobb has impressed me since his arrival, the two signings we have already made looked good but we were far too open and sloppy.

Talk Cobblers never get it right, they know no more than the bloke in the street.
However there is always a first time.
Nevertheless I shall wait until deadline day to ascertain where I place my
monkey on.

With Lukic gone getting 2 CM in is an absolute priority. Personally not sold on Shea Charles from the highlights at 30 million, especially when you think Garcia was 4 million more and has achieved so much more in his career. Where is the other CM coming from?!

Sorry to see Lukic go, for multiple reasons. Wish him all the best in Ipswich, same as with Diop, unless they're playing Fulham 😉 Let's hope the replacement is imminent and it works out.

On an unrelated note, you might have noticed that I've been a lot less active in the past few months (starting even before the WC began), but I'm perfectly fine and healthy (because recently I've had to confirm that here), it's just that the new job I got requires a more hands on approach and I'm not able to post as much. I'll be active on match days and I'll try to react to all big news as well. Additionally, I'll try to provide insight into any Serbian player we're linked to in the future, as I think I have more knowledge about Serbian players than most people here, so I'll make an effort, regardless of whether it's convenient for me or not.

A few things converging negatively on the CM front all at once. Pitarch is a kick in the balls (thanks Mourinho), and some "journalist" is claiming Leeds are back in for Charles.

As said above, we really needed one or both to come off, ideally fast.

There is (sorry Bill I can't find that list of back-up staff but he's definitely there). Thought I saw signs of it yesterday with the very long ball to the other side of the 6 yard box being headed back. That's the one we got caught with in one of our friendlies

I feel the situation could yet change (unless, that is, Pitarch has signed a contract extension about which I am unaware) depending upon whether Real Madrid - whom it looks as if will miss out on Rodri - bring in another world-renowned midfield player. If so, my guess is AA (who may even be in personal contact with Pitarch) will be aware of this, in which case it is whether to 'stick or twist': do we wait to see whether Pitarch becomes available at the end of the window or do we bring in someone else beforehand? With Pitarch likely to be head-and-shoulders above whomever the 'someone else' might be, it would be a difficult call.
