Believe they are disclosed in the books of each club as one lump sum when the make their submissions
Ah ok didn't realise, thanks.
Although these figures must be checked thoroughly you'd think?

I would guess they all have to be proved.

Not sure I believe this tbh. Those who've been covering the deal in more detail with closer ties have said it's never been about 1 or the other- only about wether Thiago is available - which we'll have to see later in the window it seems. And given he's injured anyway that's not real issue at least. Hope we can land him as he's clearly the guy we want over others if we sign anyone in that position (which I think we should)

As for Shea, excited to have another 6 in the door. Really hope he matures into the player he's shown promise of being. Good exciting young players that may take some time to adapt but will be rooting for them. 5 year contract with 1 year option also a great thing. Future captain material maybe too one day.

feel King is probably more likely the captain if all these players mature and play well together through the years just due to the Fulham connection and him wanting to build a legacy with us?
Surely you appoint a captain because he is the right person for the job, not because he has been here since a child.

I'm fairly sure each player will be listed with an asset value for book-keeping purposes as it's the same as any other financial practice for fixed assets as players will have a determined purchase value, length of contract (expected life of said asset) & yearly depreciation as their contract and subsequent book value reduces. That probably doesn't have to be made publicly available as part of the yearly submissions as you could argue it falls under GDPR for personal identifiable information and will instead be rolled up into collective squad value, liabilities etc.; I would imagine if/when audits happen it's all stored somewhere on a player by player basis but that's purely for the auditors to see or the PL if the accuse Fulham of any wrongdoing.

Each purchase has to be amortised separately in the books to reflect each individual contract so ultimately I would have thought that the transfer fee can be inferred from each of these accounting entries?

yep agree, each one is listed individually with the amortization, then in the books when you submit you show a total amount spent and provide the back up info. Or that's how I think it works lol

Talking of Captain's Danny Murphy for me is the type of Captain I'd want on the field. Even when he was having an off day he'd point and shout at you if you weren't doing what you supposed to. I'm not sure we have that type of player in the squad currently.

I mean we're talking about Josh King - he's 19, has had a decent first season already with us and got called up to the England mens international setup pre world cup. I'm assuming if he gets better and gets more international exposure then he'll be there on merit by himself. We'll have a few younger players with Captain/leadership potential in Charles, Garcia, LDF, Bobb all showing that potential already.. so, it's not a question of who can - but more who's better suited to Fulham on the pitch and long-term.

Marco had a leadership group, which if continued they'd perhaps all be part of.

Jeroen

So 2 weeks until Chelsea.... What's next!
Need a RCB asap, but don't have the feeling this will happen soon. (as in the next 2/3 days, which is needed for him to start against Chelsea)

The Pitchard rumours have been put on hold as well.......

(I know getting spoiled this transfer-window with business early-ish)

Yes all of the accounts will be audited, transfer profit and loss will be checked as part of this.

I think we're being "spoiled" this season with early-ish signings because we have been forced to with the contract expirations (Raul and Wilson) and impending contract expirations (Diop and Lukic) as well.

I don't think this coach will treat incoming players the way Silva did, many clubs acquire a player and he is in the team immediately, we'll certainly not weeks anyway.

Personally, much as I like Bassey as a player - I don't think he is mature or articulate enough to be club captain.

Don't we already have a leadership group that consists of Leno, Reed, Cairney, Anderson and Robinson? Obviously Reed and Cairney will hardly play - so Anderson will likely continue in role. Although, I would prefer Robinson myself.

Next season when Reed, Cairney and probably Leno are no longer with us, we will obviously need more leaders. Castagne has captained Belgium in the past and I think Sess would be a good leader. Josh and Charles potentially in the future...

I think it also depends a bit on the role they're expected to play in the team. Personally i would think it is easier to throw in attacking players earlier; they can express themselves individually more or less regardless of what system they are put in to some degree.
Midfielders and especially defenders, on the other hand, require more communication and set relations or else the consequence of a mistake could be more game changing. As Marco wanted the full team to defend as one unit he hesitated to experiment with new players.
I still think Berge and Reed will start against Chelsea.

Neutral Zone Ultra

Hector Fort now gaining traction on Twitter, Marca reporting he's training separately as Barcelona don't want him getting injured before a sale.

Have to imagine one of Castagne or Tete will go if he comes in.

Yes - makes sense for Castagne to go whilst is stock is still after the World Cup and is also the last opportunity to get a fee for him with one year left on his contract. There were rumours he was interested in leaving last season, so I suspect his agent has previously engaged with potential suitors...
