Speaking of needing players in...Man utd 'collapse' against AC Milan.. and who scored one and assisted 2 of Milans 4 goals, none other than Chukwueze. Feel he was largely underutilised by Silva.

Interesting.  I always liked Chukwueze.  Started with FFC favorably, but then ran into some difficulty.  Young kid, had his Mom pass while here, likely had affected his play.  I felt there was a real good player in him, and had hoped FFC would have found way to retain him.  Anyway, we move on, spilt milk and all.....

I think a few days before his mother passed away he missed a penalty in Nigeria's AFCON defeat to Morocco and was receiving so much abuse from their fans.

One of those things can ruin a player mentally, so to have both so close together goes some way to understanding how he wasn't the same in the second half of the season.

Can I just say (and not for the first time) that Zian Flemming is a wonderful player, and exactly the type of player that we should be looking to compliment our striker pool even if it means JKA going out to gain experience until he is ready
Zian could hit the ground running immediately whilst our others still need time, unfortunately in the Premier League you don't tend to get much time.

He's a CB - right sided though, but definitely a CB.

He's still only 20, so you're right - for his age he's doing great, but he needs to be proven a bit more at a higher level before he steps into first team perhaps at PL level

Fully agreed I think Flemming is a good striker, but as mentioned before we have three strikers now so we can't afford to be dropping £20m+ on another one. From the player's perspective I can't see why he'd choose to come when there's so much competition for that place now (and he'll know that he'll be at least second choice after Garcia).

We keep sending academy players to other clubs and then we complain when they refuse to renew and toddle off to Merseyside or Glasgow for bugger all.

He can get PL experience at Craven Cottage, maybe ?

De Fougerolls is not featuring and we are rumoured to be looking at CBs of a similar age. 

I suspect that we are looking to sell him off the back of a reasonable World Cup and bank 100% of the money to offset against the £ we are spending.

I know that people are still looking for us to sign players in multiple positions despite the signings already made, but is that realistic?

Should people be managing expectations here a bit? It may be that we can blow another £50m, I don't know but what I do know is that we've spent a bit already and just because we've made signings early this season, it doesn't mean that we have any more in the pot than from previous seasons.

Yep, Ipswich really spending. However, I'd question firstly the complete change in players that brought them up. When we went up with Jokanovic, we did similar and it didn't work out too well- you lose all of the spirit and cohesion that was there before.
Secondly, I'm not sure O'Neill is a great manager .

I want LDF to stay and succeed with us, and like Josh King, I think it's his aim to stay long-term at the club - from what I can glean his family are Fulham fans.

It's a unique position to be in - he did well at the world cup and playing for Canada and they got through to the last 16, which shouldn't be scoffed at. That being said though, to get there they played against Qatar, Bosnia, South Africa and Switzerland, losing to Switzerland (arguably the one decent side) before getting knocked out 3-0 by Morocco (the other decent side).

I think LDF is doing really well in many ways for his age and can be a long-term starter for us, but at 20, we don't have to rush it!

Give him another year or two building first team experience (perhaps one year in the Championship for example) and see how he does/matures/develops as a player and then consider bringing him in.

I don't feel you can really risk defensive positions in the PL as if you're not prepared for it, you can be found wanting and it proves quite catastrophic for the club who take that risk as there's no margin for error because it can affect results the most (easier to concede than score).

I think if he had one standout season in the Champ then we could have him as a squad player, but realistically - which would be better for the player and ultimately Fulham? Having him play week in week out or sitting on the bench and used in Cup games?

According to the best ITK we've got, which is FulhamFanNews, we're apparently looking for a winger, CM, and RCB bare minimum on top of what we've already got. I think it seems we're also looking for a RB too.

I don't think it's a qustion of whether we're blowing money or not, or managing expectations necessarily - I think that could just be the reality of where we're at.

We've been looking at Bellanova and Hector Fort, Boudial?, Pitarch, and whoever in the wing spots,.

It all tracks... According to Fabrizio Romano we've had a bit rejected for Bellanova, and according to Itk's Pitarch was apparently at Motspur park earlier this summer, but Real are holding on to him until they find a meaningful replacement, without feeling they need to move him on unless they find one they like - though they are apparently looking.

I think given our squad, we at the least need a CM/DM and Pitarch would be my first choice.. A RB, I understand the reasons - though like Castagne and Tete, they're getting older and their contracts are winding down currently... A winger, we'll we haven't really replaced Wilson yet.

Six goals and seven assists in 57 PL appearances and three goals and six assists in 27 Ligue 1 appearances is not much to rave about for an AM/striker. Though €30m seems to be pretty standard for average players these days.

Realistically we're not signing anyone in time for the Chelsea game now, so expect Bassey and Cuenca to start.

Not a rumour but if we keep failing with our CB targets I can see us going for Todibo at West Ham. His stocks are currently down and they want to get rid but he's got all the attributes we're apparently looking for (except age). Would fit Arbeloa's way of playing bettet than Nuno's as well.

Think we were linked with him back in the day before he joined West Ham. Can't say that'd be a signing that would fill me with confidence, centre back from a relegated team, but could live with it if he was backup.
