We should be absolutely all over the O'Brien deal. 6'6, PL-ready, fairly pacey for someone of that height and a genuine threat from set pieces.

That is an astonishing record.

We missed a boat on Orlando Gill who just signed for Lille. Had a impressive World Cup for Paraguay and we were interested in him last year, I remember.

Yeah, he was impressive at the world cup, especially with pens!

I wonder if Tete going in the opposite direction may work (as long as we have a RB coming in). They're desperate for a RB apparently.

O´Brien certainly fits the bill for us and would be a good pick up. I wonder if Moyes is still interested in Kenny and there is something in this.

We need some credible rumours. Been nothing concrete for days

Quote from: JimmyConway on August 26, 2026, 08:22:24 PMPriority signings I would imagine are right sided centre half and right winger though I personally think Iwobi can do a job there but perhaps the new system might make him less effective.
If we were to sign a right back? Then who leaves Castagne only a year left on contract but probably better suited to new system or Tete with his injury record and probably not suited to new style?

We do have a year option for Castagne.

Wouldn't be against this. O'Brien 'can' play RB too.

Straight swap Kenny for O'Brien do a Chelsea value both at a hundred million lots to amortise.

@jolslover

Can't see us getting O'Brien. Not good enough going forward to be a fullback in Arbeolas system and definitely not better than Diop if we are getting him as an RCB. We should be aiming for players to take us to the next level

The question for me is whether O'Brien is comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back. I'd heard that's a bit of a weakness, but it's hard to tell when playing for Moyes and Dyche.

We were pretty atrocious with our passing from defence vs Chelsea.

Just heard on wireless Ipswich looking to bring Tammy Abraham in on loan for season? Last thing I would of thought Villa need at the moment is to lose another player though he is more squad type. I wouldn't mind him at Fulham if we could loan out Muniz. We would likely be less nervous if anything happened to Garcia.

Find it odd that he's leaving Villa so soon and especially with Watkins going out the door, but maybe he's keen on minutes. In which case you'd imagine he'd favour Ipswich over us with Gonzalo in his way here.

Not a lot to disagree with there. I am extremely concerned if anything goes belly up with Garcia we are in a very precarious position. Unlikely I guess but even someone like Vardy or of similar experience would be smart business by Fulham to cover there backs.

Haven't we got Muniz & Kusi Asare for that?
There's only so many players a club like us, with financial restraints galore, can have in reserve.
We're not Chelsea with their 45+ registered players.

We do Jim but Asare would be a big ask for a player who not sure if he has started a league game for us yet? as for Muniz since Jan/Feb of this year on his return looks to me to have gone backwards and might have been a 5 or 6 game wonder of the previous season? Happy to be proved wrong but have very little confidence if he is leading the line and a system now where not just energy required but a fair amount of technical and intelligent ability needed! I would not bother with a right winger just move Iwobi there if needed and bring in a safety net of another experienced forward and if need be loan either one out if we can. I just don't share the same confidence others have with the current back-up/s. Let's be fair even Garcia is still a big gamble though signs look good.

Time for some creative accounting practices at Fulham. Think of something that boosts revenue for players - everyone else seems to be getting away with it. Ipswich, Chelsea, Man City (still yet to be taken to court over their 190 breaches), Spurs, Nottingham Forest...

The only club that genuinely seems to have mastered the transfer window properly is Brighton.

Bournemouth sold 5 players for £250m last year, Solanke for £50m the year before. I'd say they deserve some serious accolades.

Fair, but still slim pickings in the grand scheme of things for what, 20 clubs in the league
