Great. Now let's moan about our 3 new signings - too expensive, too cheap, too short, too slight, too slow, not our first choice, not quality, never played in the premier league, injury prone, too young, too old, poor wardrobe.
Very few of us have even seen these players in action, yet we seem to know better than the powers that be.

Additionally, the midfield purchases mean that hopefully Iwobi never plays down the middle again, and him returning to the wings also strengthens us. Hopefully.

I've never seen the new guy play, but I really hope he's at least a bit faster than Andersen. Andersen was already a bit too slow for the way Marco wanted us to play, I think it's an even bigger problem for the way AA wants us to play. I have heard about him and from what I've heard he's pretty highly rated, so I'm excited about him.

I accept I might be in the minority here but I'm not concerned we didn't bring in a RB. I'm happy with Tim and Kenny at least until Christmas to see how they cope with AA's tactics.

Of all the newly-introduced academy players I've seen since the beginning of pre-season Zepa has by far impressed me the most so I'm also happy to see him hopefully get some minutes off the bench. He certainly appears to have the requisite physicality already considering his young age.

We are massively over stocked in central midfield now which was one of our biggest weaknesses last season.

One of AA's greatest challenges now is to find the right combination of personnel to gel at 6, 8 & 10 with consistent goal contributions, supported by our wide players.

Might take a while to work out our strongest starting XI but I'm excited to see all the new signings acquired in this window integrated in the matchday squads.

Happy we got a centre back and another couple of midfielders which were very much needed. My only concern is our forward line and goals, I'm very interested to see how Zepa is introduced this season.

He is much faster. Affengruber was recorded at 34.9 kmh last season. Andersen tops out at 31 kmh. For reference, Robinson gets clocked in the mid 35s. He is similar to Bassey in pace.

All things considered it's a fine deadline day in my book. Three promising players. Wishing the new lads the best.

We've done what we could so late in the day. I have a good feeling about Assgrabber and Hugo, think they'll turn out to be very good additions. We will need goals to come from all areas of the pitch, the key thing is going to be chance creation. I wonder if we'll sometimes set up with a low-ish block and look to use the pace of Garcia and Larsson on the counter.

I hope the transfer team are starting to think about strengthening the GK department, perhaps not in January but next summer for certain.

If fit I expect Larsson to get in the starting 11 quite quickly instead of Iwobi, and the Austrian will be gradually put in.

Some of us are still stuck in the illusion that Marco is still at the club. AA has the players he wants and we have a stacked midfield so I see no problem. Once he figures out his best 11 we will be flying.

He's not injured now, and he produced 2 goals last week. He's still a valuable player for us in various ways, including in leadership, and he has that steel about him that we may need over the course of the season.

Its a good thing.  Objectively, Moyes isn't daft and wanted him. Subjectively I enjoy watching him play and find the solidity he brings rather calming.
