The scare stories have gone away

Last week fans on here were expecting at least a 3-0 defeat at Anfield.
The papers were suggesting our manager had already lost the dressing room and was leading the sack race.
One week on all those stories have already disappeared and let's be honest they were never stories in the first place. Ok what's happened to change that and hear us being praised yesterday on Radio 5 and match of the day? Some skilful players putting in some shifts on the training field. Well done to the whole squad and the manager

I've only seen the 8 minute highlights on the offal, so I'm in no position to have an opinion, but judging by the comments on here and the match reviews, The manager has made the corrections we all wanted to see to tighten up the defence. Now we have to hone up the finishing, but I am much more hopeful now.

I'll hold my hands up as I thought it was a formality Liverpool win yesterday. Thought the 1/2 price was a steal no wonder the bookies are never skint. Won't be getting gooey just yet but beating Utd next week might allow a much more positive outlook of season ahead. Come to think of it even a point will be on the right road!

didn't really change much he just switched out Anderson who was far too slow for this system for Affengruber who was far more suited for it and it worked, looks like a cracking player

we'll see how we get on next Saturday before getting to excited but yes its a positive

Iwobi for Palacios made a huge difference. His tracking back and covering for Robinson was exceptional and his interplay and connection with his teammates going forward was miles better than what we had seen on the left side of the pitch during the first three games.

Exactly this.  An away point in this league is always welcome, particularly at Anfield, so, well done to the lads for a proper show.  But unless there is follow through in the next group of games then it will ring hollow.  Looking forward to next home game and hope to see a result.

I think the TV Personality Rylan was covering for him the first few weeks.

The guy in the dugout looks more like a manger now, and the team are playing more like a team.

There will be silly reactions from a few in both directions depending on the result from one week to the next, but 83% on here were already saying he should be given at least up to the Ipswich game if there were signs of improvement. He's done that, although I agree with the comment above that it won't mean much unless we can follow-up it up with more points on the board relatively quickly.

The switch out of Anderson made a big diff, also Leno not having to do much in a way helped. Generally the whole team looked more composed, we still struggle to put a cross in of any quality, and Muniz looked poor. Thought Kevin played well and had a point to prove.

From what I saw he changed a bit more than that. Our wing backs didn't bomb forward with such impunity.  It was also the first time seeing the Charles & Berge's partnership with Iwobi out wide. I'd say he changed quite a bit.

Sometimes it's relatively easy to be conservative away from home (even dull or boring)
Where it gets difficult is at home when the pressure is on both the manager and the team to get on the front foot and be more expansive, next Sunday will be very interesting against an exceptional counter attacking team like Manchester United.

Well, I don't think Man Utd on Sunday will be a 'Cinch' by any means, and Rylan's twin brother is still favourite for the Sack Race (for now)

BUT I'm hopeful that as long as the defence shores up and the midfield is solid, we might be able to get a point at home

I feel fanbases can flip and flop a lot from result to result. Last week's performance was very good. But we're still currently on 1 point from 4 games, so there's a lot to do still.

If we can get a win this weekend, with the three promoted teams coming up then we can really start to feel confident for the season. We obviously have the quality, but you don't want to get into a situation where you're nervous and playing catch up.
