I am pretty sure he has better options (Arsenal for example) he would never join us.

It looks like no one will be joining us, we are not even linked with M'Villa any more.
It is going to be a long second half to the season.

We don't suit him, he wouldn't join anyway. Don't even think he'd leave having signed a new contract recently and Arsenal are desperately thin at the moment.

Boateng can pass but his main strength will be that he can protect the back, win the ball and move it forward to Ruiz and Berbatov.

Not sure we need another Murphy as we have Ruiz, but we need someone with a better passing ability than Sidwell or Baird.

We did see him in the Europa League matches in which he made a number of good passes. Ideally, of course, we would like two central midfielders and the other could be even more creative.

Not actually. His game vision and passing are remarkable. He can split a different range   good passes  ahead.
Also he is in decent form.

some reports in Holland suggest that Steklenberg may wait till the summer to move in the hope that Barca firm up an alleged interest in him. Barca will look to sell valdes now on in the summer and may want Stek as a replacement.

If we are interested and it seems we are then should we force the issue and say now or never? dont think this is what we tend to do.
