Im going to this but wondering what bit to go in as i haven't been to goodison before.

Upper Bullens or Lower Bullens?

What decent away pubs are nearby?

jelmo

Id recommend upper bullens. Much better view of the pitch and less Home fans nearby.

Pretty hardcore support going to Goodison. We've got a 100% record up there in the premier league... lost every time.

fulhamfan

i know, but its a ground i havent been to yet, and i fancy us to do something

Buffalo76

My recommendation is don't waste your time going in the first place. Everton are always well up for it whereas we don't even try, like the majority of away games i'm afraid. Plus the area's a dump anyway.

This will be my fourth time there and I`m pretty sure that with the exception of our first year up we`ve never taken the upper tier. We get the lower which is the dingy rear section and the lower open former paddock.
Take no notice of Buffalo76 its one of the best traditional grounds still standing , love going to Liverpool, the city is steeped in football history and had some brilliant nights up there, always found the scousers sound. The city centre is teeming with brilliant pubs, near the ground always found the pubs around Anfield a better bet, the Arkles, Flat Iron etc..
I know we`re always crap at Goodison but I`m working on the law of averages and actually think we might get  a result up there, which probably means we`ll roll over and surrender as per usual.

Agree with Hillingdon and will probably drink in the centre..there was a interesting pub very adjacent to the ground where I witnessed this bloke recite the names of the championship winning squad of 1970...harvey/morrissey et all prior to entering the building...thought he was talking to himself at first...needless to say we lost...last minute goal from our old mate louis...been there a fair few times now  all ending in defeat...hope to see a victory there like my old man did in 48...1-0...bob thomas....but that was the cup.

We are the whites

We're up on Friday , so give us a bell when you're ready!

I'm up there too for my sins. City centre is the best place to drink and get a black cab to the ground, they are dirt cheap up there.  The pubs around the ground are a bit rough and often too packed.

Might be OK now they've got nothing to play for and will be saving themselves for their cup final against Liverpool.

For the first time in my life I'm sitting in the home end for this one.  fp.gif A friend is toffee mad and I promised his wife that I would sort this out as a treat for him. I will be in the main stand opposite the Away End, wearing my Fulham shirt, socks and boxer shorts under something more neutral (a green and purple shell-suit perhaps??!!)

I have tried everything else to get a win up at Goodison, so I reckon that this is a final resort to try and get some points. If it works, then I'll do the same next season  049:gif.

Some harsh comments from you lads,

Fulham ross .....  "the area's a dump anyway".
Have you not heard that we were the city of culture a few years ago, we went out and bought a road sweeper with the money.

Hillingdon FC is right, town centre very good for pubs and for one pound you can get a "football special" bus right to the ground, they run every ten minutes from opposite Lime street station.

And despite popular opinion we will not pinch the tyres off your car.

If we play anything like we played against Wigan you will probably get a result, if we are up for it, i expect to win 2-0 or 3-1.
Either way i hope you have a nice day lads.
Bill.

Thinking about going (have no idea why considering our record) and will know later once the other half knows her new work rota. Part of me wants here to be working Saturday, another part does not.

fulhamfan

they are not selling tickets for away fans in the upper bullens

Cheers Licker, I might use that Football Special. As you may have noticed, I managed to get tickets fine in the end, but very much appreciated your offer of help.

Where does the bus back go from though and how long do you stand around before you can get on one? Never been to a game in Liverpool and trains don't run very late to Norwich so have tended to not even consider these games
