Speculate to accumulate and for goodness sake no more Mitroglu-like signings.

So. Gamble but don't take any chances, eh?

Younger players than 28 please,no more dads army.

It's the most positive statement I have heard from Shahid and the first football related comment he has really made in his time. Looking forward to some good signings in the next few months - will be interesting how many Germans or Bundesliga players come in but also interesting to hear we were linked with a guy from Bournemouth so our scouts are obviously already looking round the championship. You would think we would constantly be looking at Championship players but I am struggling to think of the last player we bought from the Championship that was bought as a first team player.....anyone...?

He's speaking off the cuff, extemporaneously.  With no notes, he's showing his resolve to get  back to the Prem ASAP without being overly concerned about "balancing the books".  What more could a fan ask for from a deep pocketed owner?  Sounds to me like he is willing and committed to spending on talent necessary to get the job done.  Does anybody read it differently?

Yes it sounds promising. He's going to need good if not great players in all positions. Burnley and Leicester lost 5-6 games out of 46 this year and we are not anywhere close to having a team that can do that in the Championship.

Actions speak louder than words, and so far he has failed.

As Mr Khan's PR office have issued a statement announcing that he will sanction a sending spree to do whatever is necessary (...to get us promoted), I have two nagging questions which I just can't understand -

1. Why the hell wasn't this done during the past 10 months  before we spunked away £50m of revenue and sleep-walked into relegation?
2. Who the hell is going to oversee this - hopefully not the existing management (exc RM obviously) that brought in Mitroglou ?

Sorry to harp on but these questions wont go away

FPT

1. Well if you look at our squad when he came in, we were more or less finished in the transfer window, we only added Parker, Taarabt and Bent after he bought the club. We had a big squad at that point, and at that point, the only position I believed that we could do with a huge overhaul is central midfield, I didn't - nor do I think anybody else - saw this disaster coming.

I credit Khan with the fact that he didn't come in all guns blazing - the squad was there, he didn't need to spend a lot in the summer, January he gave the go ahead to spend £12m on a new striker, again - I credit him. That's a ballsy move. He also paid the wages of Heitinga and Holtby whilst they were here.

2. I believe the only reason that Alistair Mackintosh was in charge of transfers this January is because of Rene being charge. Rene was never given the title of first team manager. From what I understand, we had scouts watching Kostas Mitroglou, and with Berbatov leaving, we had to bring him in ASAP. Ok, that signing didn't go to plan, but he must've passed a medical... This is misfortune rather than ill-management, no?

In a separate point, we cannot pin this on Shahid Khan at all. The majority of the squad that was here was built under the tutelage of Mohamed Al Fayed and Martin Jol. Whether people want to admit it, we had a squad that shouldn't have gone down, but it's been under poor managerial guidance and ill player form.

We'll go back up, and we'll go back bigger and stronger, and I promise that you'll all be worshipping Shahid Khan is a manner on another level from Mohamed Al Fayed.

JBH

He did spend but was obviously misadvised.

FM has not had a chance to spend any money in the transfer market and I believe that he needs to be given and obviously is getting the full backing from the owner so lets give Felix a chance to spend wisely shall we?

Lighthouse

Well the argument goes that when he too k over in the Summer he left everything to the people already at the club who were scared to break the sustainability tag set up by Al Fayed to con Khan in the first place.

The panic in January was set up by Khans son who likes to play computer games and the Greek looked good in the game.

Our CEO did the paperwork and nothing more and our then manager/coach had no idea what was going on.

We now have a new manager who by being relegated has pointed out that Khan must listen and learn and pay money to re establish Fulham as a going concern on the Prem.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I for one would like that nice soft toilet tissue in the Hammy End loos, and Mrs H4 is wanting hand cream in the ladies.

Does anyone have any actual proof of this story about Khan's son getting daddy to buy Mitroglou because the son fancied his virtual play in a computer football game?  That seems awfully far fetched to me.  I suspect Khan loves his son and all, but really now, it's ridiculous to suggest such a successful businessman is going to spend that much on a player based on how a player's relative abilities are supposedly  'loaded' onto a software program.  It's a nice story though.  It has tut tut and 'Ain't It Awful' all over it.  Oh, what the super rich do with their money!  How they throw it around on whims and notions!  Come forward, story starter, and reveal your substantiation/corroboration with as much detail as you have.
