Wish he'd get an interpretor when giving interviews. What the hell was he on about? Transitions etc, whats all that about?

You never know, but if we keep surviving our complicated moments, we could yet achieve a good mental moment.  Next stop Nirvana.

Past caring about his pre match or after match interviews. He is never going to be able to learn after all this time and so I have stopped listening to him. He clearly knows his stuff and can communicate with the players. But PR is always going to be a problem for him. Most managers come out with rubbish anyway. It is just that we can't actually understand if it's rubbish or not. As long as the players know during coaching.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Absolutely right! He's not auditioning for a job as newsreader on Radio4.

Last night's was a classically opaque offering.

I love his interviews, he sounds like a character from the Fast Show, a mixture of Ron Manager and football superstar Julio Geordio.

Thanks for the 'interpretation'.

The Sky interview was his most incoherent interview yet !

toshes mate

Never have a problem understanding his points and as for his 'broken' English I have heard worse from people born and bred here.  Some people are good at learning fluency while many struggle, and the guy can make himself understood in at least three languages.  Not bad for someone who some say needs an interpreter.

Trappatoni, when managing Ireland, was better mind you . He went all in, with idiomatic expressions, it was wonderful.

"Don't jump the gun. In Italy it is other meaning but the same. Be careful the cat, no say the cat is in the sack when you have not the cat in the sack"

And when Shane Long pulled out of an international,

"Before the game we made a tactical (formation) with Shane Long, with (Jon) Walters, with (Aiden) McGeady. Ask Shane Long what he said, after this, 'I have pain'.The doctor, worry, and so in hospital. They took him for a scan. And now he says he is fit, that is idiotic. Is idiot. No, (he) is no baby."

I can cope with his broken English but either the sound quality on the sky I/V was poor or he was mumbling, that really did make it hard to understand him.  However compared to many managers he does try to talk seriously about football and for that I give him full credit.

colinwhite

hovewhite

Hes getting it right on the pitch with his team ,thats all that matters!

gang

You think you have problems understanding him!

He does mumble.  Clearer diction, even with his original take on grammar, would make him easier to understand.  He must have spent his youth in Serbia watching Marlon Brando films.

OK, he's  difficult to understand at times.....but I bet he says "would have" and not "would of"...........

My thoughts exactly. Paul Whitehouse based Ron Manager on Alec Stock, Fulham's finest manager.

It all makes perfect sense to me. LLJ (Long live Joka)

He-he. How true!

I was transfixed by the lingering close-up of Joka whispering instructions into Kebano's ear as he was waiting to come on as sub yesterday.  Firstly, Joka seems very tall for a midfielder (or Kebano is a trifle vertically challenged?)  Secondly, Kebano looked anxiously bewildered and barely acknowledged the instructions.  So Joka just patted him on the shoulders and sent him on his way.  Priceless theatre.
In all seriousness, I think Joka is a very talented manager.  If he were to improve his English, he could be one of the best.  Management after all is about communication.
Nogood "not talking proper English like, isit" Boyo

His English is a lot better than my Serbian, so, no complaints from me.
