Actually, the question should be how can we extend TC's contract?

I'll agree to disagree Mr Windy. I don't see TC to be anywhere near as good as some on here see him.

I think you're misreading my intent.  I think the TC one year extension was a mistake.

For what reason?

Simply for 'moving on'.  You can't hang on to older players, fan favorites, clubhouse leaders forever.  This team needs to get younger and likely develop a new style of play, what with a new manager on the horizon and his chosen style of play.  Loved TC, terrific player and servant.  I just hope his roster spot doesn't prevent FFC from acquiring a younger, interesting player.

Raul commented saying he met the chairman the week before we played Wolves and made his mind up the day of the game

Quote from: demeant0r on June 09, 2026, 03:42:46 PMSo is this REALLY Fulham's farewell to someone who gave us three seasons and never missed one single penalty kick?

"Regarding Men's First Team appearances, Raúl Jiménez has played a vital role during his three years at Fulham, scoring 31 times"

"We would like to thank every player for their service and efforts during their time at Fulham, and wish them the best of luck during the next chapters of their career."

That's absolutely disgusting.

The word pathetic comes to mind.
you are obviously not up to speed. Tony explained he sent the farewell email to the pr department last Friday, part of it contained wishing him well at Wolves who had not released a statement yet on his signing for them. I have posted the farewell message above in my previous post.

Whether I am up to speed or not I expected something like that because of the following: A while back during a close season our best ever keeper in my 73 years of supporting, Tony Macedo, sadly passed away. I was unable to attend the first game of the following season but I expected his photo to be on the cover of the programme as well as the traditional one minutes silence observed prior to kick off. As there was neither I wrote to the club expressing my annoyances. In the reply they enclosed a matchday programme pointing out they had mentioned the passing inside. This was a p*** poor sized effort that mainly spoke of Tony's 'iffy' display in the 1958 FA Cup semi final replay. I wrote to say I felt this was very disrespectful and that was that. So, as I say, that is why I agreed with Thailand Mick.

I see Wolves have sacked Rob Edwards. I wonder if Raul knew that was happening before he signed?

But there is no reason to move on for the sake of it. Having someone like TC as a squad player has no clear downside as far as I can see. He is content not starting all the time, likely not on a huge wage (by Pl standards, of course), clearly capable of influencing games at this level, has tons of positive history with the club, seems like a well liked teammate.

Other than "moving on" (whatever the purpose of that is), what is the actual downside to keeping him? Is he not good enough to be one of about 5 midfielders in the squad?
