I recall our former owner gifting shares in FFC to Kevin to show his gratitude. I thought it was a marvellous gesture but read somewhere later it was all smoke & mirrors.

Many memories but the two that stick out are meeting him at York away when waiting for the team bus to arrive Kevin pulled up in his Range Rover and the other was at the end of the game at Villa Park after knocking them out of the FA Cup. What an absolute legend and a great man, thoughts to his family and friends. RIP

Remember when Mo described his as 'our gift to the nation' after he accepted we were fighting a losing battle to keep him. Courageous both on and off the pitch. One of the few brave enough to stick his head above the parapet and speak out against women in football. A life well lived, RIP King Kev.

Rufus Brevett on 5 live talked about how he was bought by the club. Kevin Keegan rang him up and introduced himself as the manager of that big club down the road from QPR. He explained how Fulham was going somewhere and Rufus signed.

I will never forget Kevin's first interview stood with Ray Wilkins at the Hammersmith end of the Johnny Haynes stand. I could not believe it.

As player and manager he provided so many moments that stay in the memory. Indelible.

He came from a time where young lads weren't shielded by academies, playing a hundred times for Scunthorpe before being picked up by Liverpool.  That would have been character-building and what a character it built.  All based on the transparency of his love of football.
