Does anybody think we will get a decision broadcasted by Silva before the game on Sunday. I realy hope so, but I think if he's going, he will wait until after.

It looks like Ruben Amorin is the current favourite for Benfica job so it's possible that Silva will stick with Fulham. This needs to be resolved asap because it's undoubtedly had a negative effect this season.

I would imagine we will know one way or tuver before this weekend. Still 60-40 he stays but that is just guess work on my part.
Benfica job comes with very high expectations and last 16 of CL is not seen as progression let alone failure to not win Primeira Liga? Jose has made them stable to the point unbeaten in about 20 odd games so even more pressure on him if he can't maintain there second half form next season?

That would be very underwhelming to say the least, as said, another year of not knowing, we need a bit of stability and enthusiasm.

Bournemouth and Palace players still playing for their departing managers! I don't see how Silva's uncertainty is a contributing factor to the successive poor form at the end of every season.

Either Silva has had enough or our squad is just not good enough.

I think its best all round if he goes and the sooner the better so we can plan for next season. We need fresh ideas and tactics and clearly Marco needs a new challenge as well. Would like to thank him for the 5 years and start afresh. The club should have taken the new contract offer off the table by now anyway.

Perhaps he is just not the best motivator there is? I don't doubt his tactical prowess, nor his man-on-man day-to-day management. But just judging from the way he generally acts in interviews and press events I really can not imagine Marco being the kind of guy that lights fires in anyone's hearts ever when push comes to show.

Well if he does sign a 3 year deal I just hope to god he gets more control over all aspects of transfers and a decent budget. If not, it will be very much as we are and no or little improvement.

I just don't buy this position.  Whether or not current coach is going to leave has no impact on how well the lads play.  These are professional athletes, and when they lace up their boots they are going out to score goals and win games. 

If you want to talk about negative effect, you can look at 'style' of play and/or game plans that MS has instructed.  That can be debated and critiqued.  But just because a coach may or may not leave shouldn't influence the players performance.

I'd be surprised if after 5 years at the club he'd want to go out without a proper goodbye to the fans and club in general.. for someone who seems genuinely invested in the clubs success and continued growth, and who has seemingly continued to enjoy being with us, it would seem a bit of a damp squib for him to just up and leave without saying anything.

Personally I want to see Marco stay and be fully backed with transfers and funding to build a proper squad out of full-time players who can all just focus on playing the game properly and building something meaningful.

We've got all the potential in the world, but it needs to be built properly.

Not necessarily. Did you not see the immediate few games after Palace's manager announced he was leaving? Lose 3, win 1 and draw 1 and one of those losses was against no-hope Burnley.

Having seen additional posts of a potential 3 year deal being accepted a few minutes after my post, I would be happy as long as Marco gets some fresh motivation and he gets to build  the team in areas that are needed. I just want an end to the uncertainty.

If he gets the commitment from the owners and agree to his terms and they stick to it, which is where I have my doubts I would accept that. I think he will have to have a clause that states if they fail in their commitments he can walk with a decent payoff.
