Quote from: Surlyc on May 22, 2026, 07:51:23 AMMaguire's childish reaction to missing out is exactly why he should miss out. He has a huge ego that is completely misaligned with his quality at this point, which would be a big problem in a 5th choice CB.

His mum's mouthing off now about his omission. Does she think he's got some kind of entitlement 2 be selected???

Did she say... "Harry.... go and get your ball back"!!!

Gibbs-White is the only huge mistake really, imo. As much as I find some of his on pitch antics, he's a good player in brilliant form. Surely he should have been there instead of e.g. Henderson.

Citizen Smith

Whatever happened to picking people in form? Gibbs-White has been just about the best attacking midfielder in the Prem in the last three months - it's a shocking omission!

Its either G-W or Morgan for me to compete with Bellingham. And I would choose Morgan.

Rodgers, Gibbs-White and Bellingham can all play in at least one other position each. Rice, Anderson, Mainoo, Bellingham can all play as central midfielders, why was Henderson then called.

The most insane thing to me is that Newcastle's 2nd choice LB (Livramento) is in ahead of their 1st choice (Hall)!

Quote from: Whitestone on May 21, 2026, 07:11:39 PMI'd take him. He's been playing well, is a real threat at set pieces and I don't think we can rely on Stones who has hardly played and has repeated injury issues and Colwill who has only recently returned from a long term ACL injury. First choice probably Konsa and Guehi but Maguire is good back up in the circumstances.
Plus he pops up with the odd goal.

Their 2nd choice LB is ahead of our 1st/2nd choice and our 1st/2nd choice can play multiple positions if needed.

I can't say agree with all his choices, but it his squad and I respect the fact that he has not necessarily gone with all the big name players like Southgate did and try to shoehorn all into the first eleven.

I'm surprised about Henderson - but I he does need some experienced heads and perhaps he is a better leader than Maquire for instance (who is apparently a bit of a ****).

Quote from: demeant0r on May 21, 2026, 11:27:31 PMWhat does Sess have to do to get into the England squad? I guarantee if he was in Arsenal or City, he'd have gotten a call up by now.

Don't get me wrong - I rate Sess, but not sure he has the recovery pace these days to play as a left back and he won't get in as a winger.  That said, I would pick him ahead of Djed Spence!

I totally agree with him instead of Jordan Henderson.

I've no idea how Spence has got in . Has he not watched Spurs this season ? Sess' performance this season much more deserving of a call up

Super Mick

He's taking Spence and Henderson.  Is Tuchel sabotaging England intentionally?

I Ronic

It's his squad. His moment. If players haven't read the room (or the pitch) it's  their fault.

iansthailand

My biggest concern is he's taking 3 injury risk defenders in Reece James, John Stones and Tino Livramento.

We won't win it without a Fulham player involved....It's no Cohencidence....

Marcus

Not as shocked and gutted as England fans if he'd been picked.
