Quote from: andyk on June 20, 2026, 01:15:20 PMDamien Duff has taken Assistant Coach at Brentford.  Maybe, he would have been a wild card for us?  Managerial experience is low level, but, undoubtedly, sucessful.  And he knows Prem League, and he knows the club. Granted, our experience with former players, as manager, has been underwhelming. But picking up some continental failure? Its a risk too.

If this message board isn't happy about getting LBM then they would scream murder about Duff. Being manager for a team that is well below the Welsh league standard is probably underwhelming.

Highly volatile...described in the Irish Times as a 'mad bastard' (meant in a complimentary way)

Why haven't they sacked Silva, why haven't they sacked Silva.
Week in week out.
Now we have, what are they doing, what are they doing.
They haven't replaced Silva, they haven't replaced Silva.
New manager comes in. OH. he's shite, OH. he's shite.
What are they doing, What are they doing.

Love it.

Duff is pal of Andrews. Maybe his successor?

Like Bournemouth, obviously but also Crystal Palace managed to get Sage in fairly quickly.

Not sure why things are stalling, if its us or the manager but evidently you can get names in pretty quickly

They knew Glasner was leaving 6 months before he went so had 6 months to prepare

Pico Lopes would like a word.

I don't get your point. There's players who play for their national team in the Welsh league too but that doesn't negate the fact the League of Ireland is appalling in quality. I would know, I'm Irish.

Ok,  Keith Andrews would like a word. Being a good manager is sometimes an unknown quality. Duff was a top, top player, with a wealth of Prem, European and international experience.  I thonk he went home to Ireland, for personal reasons. Bring up his family, settle away from the pressure of the heights of the game.  Now he's back, in England, and I think he has the quality to be a top manager.  But we'll probably pick some experienced loser, whose been sacked three or four times.

Roy Hodgson was sacked 4 times before joining Fulham
Think he turned out pretty decent for us.

We have known Silva was jumping ship all season
