How can a German want England to do well?

While Germany are in the same tournament.

I agree with Arsene Wenger who said major footballing countries should have a manager of their own country.

We've seen the German decimate England leaving out stalwarts like Harry Maguire and Trent Alexander-Arnold. On top of that Cole Palmer Chelsea's best player and Phil Foden omitted. This to me looks like SABOTAGE and the Germans have a history of that doing back to Gordon Banks.

With complete rotational teams in the friendlies he has no idea of his first 11, one is unsure of the direction of this German other than he wants Germany to win the World Cup!

Dreamland, he is a professional manager. I am German and live in England and would be delighted for England to do well.

Oh thank you for us "doing well". A big difference for us winning over Germany winning.

Do you have a problem with all foreign people regardless of colour or creed? poor thing,  never mind you'll grow up one day.

Maybe the fact that we're not actually living 80-90 years ago Nick. Also the same reason other countries have managers of all different nationalities who take their job professionally.

demeant0r

We're being "Bateman'd". Don't take the bait.

Hi Nick. The war is over. We won. Everyone has moved on.

Okay, nearly everyone.

Do you suppose Jackie Charlton would not have strained every sinew for his Republic of Ireland team to put one over on England? Absolutely he would. Which top competitive manager would willingly throw away the chance of having a world cup winner medal?

Welsh, although they're never really a fall back option.

Germans don't give a bockwurst about England as a sports rival... it is the Dutch.

Mods gonna quarantine anyone who calls this an awful take nd point out that Bateman has done this before?

Not that I care about this community anymore but won't pass up the chance to call out the hypocritical nature of modding comments for bullying and then allowing someone to offend an entire group of people living in this country.

Fulham 1879

Would you prefer Scott Parker leading England out to a 1-0 defeat with Kane coming on as sub after 89 minutes?
