Just bought 8 x 500ml bottles of water from Sainsburys here in Ludlow. Cost? £2.50. Or £0.62 per litre.

Went to the Newcastle game on the 24th May. Hottest day of the year. A 500ml bottle of water cost me £2.50 (or £5 a litre).

Setting aside the fact that it would have been a nice gesture by the club to give away water on such a bakingly hot day (especially to young children and pensioners), how much profit are the club making on water and how can that profit be justified? Buying water at FFC is more expensive than buying it at a motorway service station which is saying something.......

I don't think the club make money on water, I believe catering is independent of the club, or it was when I was there.

Thanks Alfie. Perhaps I'm being dim but does "catering" include beer?

Yes I believe so, as I say that's how it was in my time at Fulham.

I have no problems getting in with water. There is always a massive mark up on water where ever you go, not sure we can blame the Club when you can bring in your own.

Agreed,  and near where I sit there are ladies who, during winter months, bring in flasks of tea or soup.

Coastwalker

Buying Water,I just fill up the bottle from the tap, where I live the water is perfectly safe to drink and tastes good.

The club could've allowed to bring the cold pint in their plastic cup to the seat that day. There was no dry spot on any part of the body if you were at Johnny Haynes stand in direct sunshine.

Sod the water price, my Vodka Martini at the
 cottage is beyond exorbitant.

I had a knock on my door the other day, and a gentleman was standing there, wearing a hi vis jacket.
He asked me if I would like to contribute to the new local swimming pool that was being built.
So I gave him a bottle of water.

I have the same feeling when I order a Double Hernia.
