I certainly didn't .... But we are a democracy - which is clearly a fine system so wonderfully demonstrated by our friends across the pond.ย  ( this is categorically not a political statement but one of fact - which is currently impacting our football club )

Thank you for your understand ping mods

Two sides
of the same coin.

Rules are rules

I really don't see how there can be any complaints from us having to wait for our new manager ( and his team) going through the process. We democratically chose to end freedom of movement - so you get what you asked for . It's like hearing British moans at passport control now getting in and out of European airports - get on with it . We made a choice - but don't like it when it impacts us in a negative way .

Don't want to get political and a ban - but many of us didn't make that choice !!

I dread seeing a post that Arbeloa has been unveiled as manager elsewhere. Maybe the club are masters at managing expectations. A month ago we were all underwhelmed by the thought of Arbeloa, now we are desperate for him to join. When I see posts like Ange taking up his new position, I realise there are so few experienced candidates out there, let alone impressive ones.

If Arbeloa becomes unavailable, I could well see these idiots appointing a taxi driver because of the impressive football knowledge he showed during a journey from the airport to the ground and announcing it is a progressive hire

I could well imagine us going for Dyche if Arbeloa fails the home office obstacle

I've just checked out the EU citizen UK visa situation and you should be able to get a fast tracked process done in a few days.
Does the amount of time it's taking point to it not being Arbeloa?

alfie

From what I have heard (not confirmed) email received Visa stamped, all good to go.

His wouldn't be a straight visa, it would require a work permit which takes slightly longer. Also owing to the fact he's not been a manager for an extended period it takes a little longer because he requires governing body endorsement from the FA which he would get due to the UEFA pro license but he's not been a top league manager for a long period which would also impact the work permit (albeit he will and has got that all sorted now)

Maybe they could only apply from the 1st July due to the way football contracts work? Just a thought.

4th July Independence Day, perhaps the American owners have been waiting for today to start looking.

The work permit can be fast tracked in a few days. Or that was my understanding.

Given that it was at best 50:50 whether Marco stayed or left I'm amazed it has taken us so long to replace him. Had his departure been a surprise I would have every sympathy but seriously?
