So nearly a month since Marco went and still no manager. This is getting silly.

Its only about a week since Marco officially left, work permit holding it up for Arbeloa who has accepted role

But you haven't explained to me how an "earlier deadline" would work? Under contract law he had a date on which his contract ended. How can any business override that and set an earlier deadline?
I've worked in this area for years and I just do not understand his this could be imposed. Please explain and I will be happy to back down.

Sure. Problem is that you are confusing yourself by focusing on Silva's contract. It is not about when his contract expired, but when a decision about his future was made. The club should have forced the decision earlier, was my point. 

We didn't need his contract to expire before we could seriously move forward with other options, but we needed to know that he was going to leave.

Agree though equally the owners allowed the saga to play out, they could have fired him early

Why bother with firing him, it would have made no difference to the arrival of the new manager as its all about budgets and regulations the issue seems to be the Home Office staff working from home 🤔

Seemingly this has now extended in appointing a manager and back room staff.

I have to say I totally disagree, and obviously these are just opinions so I will give you mine.

I don't think Marco did know he was going, I think he was waiting for the owners to confirm they were going to properly support him and prepare for next season. In any event when he was not signing a new contract in December, they, meaning the Khans should have taken the matters the natter out of his hands and got on with selecting a new manager. They have failed to prepare and it is very poor management. TK said they didn't believe he was leaving, but akl the rest of us realised he was going, what was wrong with them?

THe way players and managers and players are employed is the biggest issue, the contract system needs an overhaul to make it fairer for both parties... I don't know how to change it byut the current system is very counter productive.

Given the fact that Marco's contract officially ended on June 30th I'm not entirely sure what conversations SK was expected to have with potential replacements. "Hey Poch, I'd like to talk to you about taking over as Fulham manger although the current manager doesn't know if he's leaving or not so there may or may not be a job" doesn't sound entirely professional.

Maybe SK was too naive in trusting Silva. No one on here knows what went on in the discussions between SK/TK and Silva and there will be endless speculation that the board did not give enough assurances to Silva but for them to think he was staying, I feel, can only be because Silva led them to believe he was. Silva's agent was probably aware of the Benfica/Real Madrid merry go round and used this to string us along. I don't know on what grounds SK could have sacked Silva  while he was under contract to Fulham and having offered him a new contract. My knowledge of employment law isn't great but I'm sure this would have led to a tribunal of some sort for unfair dismissal or something along those lines. Those on this board who look at any opportunity to jump on SK/TK will use this against them but Silva doesn't come out of this situation untarnished.

You say what was wrong with them ? We were not party to conversations between Silva and Khan, it could well be that these conversations led the club to believe he was staying, let's face it he did come out and say they had talks about the coming season what they/he wanted and they were on the same page, his words.
