What is the point of the gas flame throwers that are used before every game in the premier league before every match. Do we need them? No

SP

Funny enough, I was wondering why they bother using them every game. Presumably, the 10,000 or so tourists attending each game enjoy seeing them?

SG

Absolute waste of money and hardly very 'green'

3 pigs

A little too American for me.

Andrew

I agree with all the above... I hate any pre match and half time entertainment except maybe a penalty shoot out.... I like it older worlde

Except, I am embarrassed to say I like the flame throwers....even though they are clearly dangerous and not at all green.

The Old Count

Bring back the days when Tommy Trinder used light up one of his farts on the cottage balcony.

MikeTheCubed

Didn't mind them at first when they were initially used for big games such as the League Cup semi final, but using them for every single league game is cringe.

It's a good way to burn off the
Excess gas, from obnoxious Football pundits.
Also the club use the Fumes from the Hammy end Toilets,
so it is very Environmentally friendly.

Twig

All they do is make a small contribution to global warming. Utterly pointless.

Woolly Mammoth

I don't like them either but they are handy for making toast
Plus as already been mentioned it helps the Dung Beatles clear the Excrement End.

That was through Public Demand, and always wore his Camel Overcoat and Trilby no matter the weather shouting " you lucky people ".

Same here, I would much prefer watching villagers kicking a Pigs Bladder from one end of the pitch to the other, just like in the good old days.
We had a Centre forward who smoked a pipe whilst playing, I think he used to be a Squadron Leader in the RAF, his name is on the tip of my tongue
Something like Chocks away Roger, Bandits One O'clock.

They already do, although we are allowed Catherine Wheels.
Incidentally I once went out with a Lady called Catherine Wheel who was a real Sparkler.
She drove an old Banger.
But she gave me a hell of a Rocket when she found out I supported Fulham and dumped me for a bloke called Roman Candle who was a Firefighter.

Catherine was a sensible lady then.
Or Did she have a short fuse.

_Putney_

We should limit the number of fans at the game given the contribution to global warming. Watch from home!

I don't like the flames every match. I liked it when they first started, only the huge games like playoffs
