Is Arbeloa the right man to lead us in the Championship next season?

Personally I think not. You have to be pragmatic and play a style that suits the players you have.

What you can't do is force a system on players and hope it will work whether they are suited to it or not. We do not have sufficient quality or midfield, capable of playing this way.

We need a proper centre forward with physical presence on the pitch OR we need midfielders and defenders capable of passing the ball quickly and accurately to give Garcia a chance to use his talent. As it is garcia is totally wasted playing a role he is clearly unsuited to. He needs to play alongside or just a more physical player.

No shots at Sunderland was down to the manager's inability to change tactics. The season will be an abject disaster unless he works out quickly that we are plying the wrong system. Sunderland weren't that good but they made us look very poor.

PS and the free kicks and corners are way worse than before

Basically Marco left us with a team suited to nothing but survival at best. AA needs a total overhaul

It is not an over reaction at all. It's an indication that a novice manager with no intent of modifying his rigid view of how to play with a group of players unsuited to his preference will lead to many very disappointing days.

The bizarre substitutions were ridiculous... We needed a presence at centre forward but left the talented but ineffective Garcia unable to do his stuff

If anything my words were kind. I am massively worried we are likely to be bottom six all season.

Feel like I'm talking to an emotionally unregulated child who's grown up trying to adjust to a world that's had Trump, Covid, Ukraine, Brexit and AI disrupt their lives, alongside some dodgy choices in political and business leaders. In fairness, none of that is anyones fault per se, but not exactly the same grounding as most who had Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Mandela, Tutu and others all setting a good example on good ethical leadership. There was a time where people were less sensationalist and more measured, now it all feels so social media impulsively driven.

Also, whilst I'm not with you on the relegation side, not yet at least,.. how long have you been supporting Fulham to be so pent up about being in the bottom six or getting relegated? Yes it'd not be fun or ideal (for this season), but in the last ten years or so we've been relegated three times and promoted back afterwards. It's football and not the end of the world either way.

Yes, I'd definitely love to see Fulham thrive in the PL and play European football again, but it isn't a guarantee and doesn't happen over night.

I am glad that my brand of being an idiot after 65 years unbroken season ticket holding is amusing you. I take the comment in the good humour you intended it.

I've seen it all before and rarely has a new manager coming in and making such schoolboy errors as we saw today turned it around, but there is always a chance.

I also found it amusing that the manager blamed the players for not showing character, energy and personality as the reason for defeat rather than poor tactics, lack of preparation eg third rate set pieces, asking the keeper to pass the ball long so often when he is not capable and bizarre substitutions.

That's also funny after two games, I'll not be able to sleep tonight for hysterically laughing

Palacios looks very young and lightweight. Not sure what he's contributing at the moment.  He might come good, fingers crossed. At the moment Charles looks head and shoulders above better bet. I agree a dire season may be in store.

Josh King is very young and very lightweight but he's had a few games from last season under his belt so is looking like the player we all hope he will be.

You can drive a bus through our midfield we have 0 desire or the physical attributes to compete playing passing triangles around the midfield while the opposition get back into shape then we decide to give the ball to Leno to hoof the ball up to king , Bobb and Garcia 🤷�♂️. I didn't see any pressing or attacking intent against Sunderland. Why are we giving the ball to Jedi further up the pitch his delivery isn't even semi pro standard aimless after aimless crossing. Corner delivery and set piece delivery shocking . Muniz not used says everything of what Arbeloa thinks of him same with Smith Rowe and Kevin . When did Palace sack De Boer after 5 games ?. Chelsea on another day should have scored six against us . Garcia and Palacios are having the shock of their life with the fast and physical nature of the premier league and we want to bring in another small central midfielder from Real Madrid 🤦�♂️. I expected a rocky start put the managers tactics are killing us getting Amorim vibes😱

@Andrew, Arbeloa had a point about lack of energy from the players.

His tactics depend on pressing high and disrupting the opposition, which the players didn't do at all.

There is a hint of Amorim about Arbeloa & his attitude to his philosophy. Clearly there was not much pressing first half & seemed worse 2nd. He doesn't appear at this stage to have a plan B but in truth neither did Silva.

Palacios may well come good once used to the pace & physicality of the prem but we don't have the luxury of letting him get that as a starter.

I don't believe it is writing off peoples' opinions, just that the swing from "we were good, I'm looking forward to the season" to "we're doomed, arbeloa doesn't know what he's doing" is very odd. There has been a lot of OTT negativity in relation to yesterday's match, in my opinion.
