White Noise

Gone at 89 but what a life and what a lady.

GoldCoastWhite

They don't make 'em like that any more !

Peabody

Another sad loss. If I remember correctly, did'nt she adopty two London kids in the fifties?.

The Equalizer

One of the all time classic beauties. And as Bob Hope said:

"the two and only Jane Russell" and "Culture is the ability to describe Jane Russell without moving your hands"

RIP
"We won't look back on this season with regret, but with pride. Because we won what many teams fail to win in a lifetime – an unprecedented degree of respect and support that saw British football fans unite and cheer on Fulham with heart." Mohammed Al Fayed, May 2010

Anywhere between London Bridge and Mitcham calling along Battersea Park Road and York Road, I presume! But you must admit, Dave, she could punch your ticket any time she fancied

How nice that within a few posts we reduce the loss of an actress to old men playing with themselves.

Well done chaps.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

GoldCoastWhite

Just showing our appreciation in different ways LH  :019: Can't say I remember too many of her films but she was certainly a spectacular looking lady and I'm sure she'll both missed and well remembered in equal measure.

I presume CH, you mean a Woodbine?

GoldCoastWhite

Play nicely lads or you'll have to go and stand in the corner ! :handbags:

Dragoman

I remember her in two great films with Bob Hope: "Paleface" and "Son of Paleface" - these days the latter would have been called "Paleface 2" - but she came across as a bit too assertive for my taste. She was a contemporary of Marilyn Monroe and I preferred the more vulnerable Marilyn. Sad to read about her death though.

There was a lot of choice in Hollywood stars back in the fifties and sixties. As well as Jane, there was Veronica Lake, Lauren Baclalle, Virginia Mayo, Jane Wyman, Donna Reed, June AllysonEven though Joan Crawford and Barbara Stanwyck were considered hot, they never appealled to me. I did like Susan Hayward though. Blimey, we were spoilt for choice way back then, and I have'nt even mentioned Lana Turner.

....and you haven't mentioned the two most beautiful of all: Arlene Dahl and Rhonda Fleming !
