Im sure there will be a fair few more willing to pay up now, any news on this yet?

LBNo11

...I have sent a Tender Enquiry to the following companies:-
Mr Flag
Football Banners
Flying Colours
Barmy Flags

This is what I requested:

Hi, I would like a quotation for the manufacture and delivery of a banner/flag of sufficient size to be displayed at a football ground 'terrace' (The Fulham Football Club).

I would appreciate your guidance in advising the following:

1) What are three popular most and practical sizes for manoeuvrability as this will be held above the supporters heads, and possibly moved from side to side?

2) I assume that the more complex the design, and the more colours the greater the cost, can you advise a breakdown of such costings.

3) It will have to be of a practical weight when manufactured to be carried within the ground to and from the terrace to a storage area in the ground; can you advise what the weights are for the three popular sizes.

4) Do you supply a storage/carry bag (canvas?) as standard, if not please would you advise what extra cost this would be.

5) Please advise shipping costs.

6) Can I pay via paypal or via a cheque or do you have any other methods?

7) Will you require payment in full before production commences, or will a part down payment be acceptable, with final payment prior to despatch?

8) Please advise the validity of your quotation, as I have to raise funding and I would appreciate at least 180 days.

9) Do you offer and warranty on the finished product, if not can you advise if you offer an insurance package?

10) Finally, can you give an indication of a realistic delivery lead time for the largest banner/flag option.

Thank you in anticipation of your early response.

I have spoken with WhiteJC and he is looking into setting up a payment account so that pledges/donations can be made.

When member Papa can submit the other drawings he posted on TiFF then we will put a poll 'sticky' up on here so that we can make our choices.

As soon as I receive any answers I will post them on here.

Any help and practical support re my previous logistics post would be helpful...

Well done L.B. and White JC. There are those that watch things happen and those that make things happen....

...I'm just starting the ball rolling bigalffc, eventually someone will have to take on the responsibility of looking after the flag in the HE, and distributing it and collecting it, as well as sorting out storage facilities etc.,

Anyway, as they say "a journey of a thousand miles starts with but a single step"...

Great.

Let's hope we can have the flag in time for our Wembley appearance. It might be expensive to take it to Hamburg!

LRCN

LB, perhaps edit the update into the first post - or make a new topic, this is a massive step forward. well done mate.

H&S update

LB...One thing that I did not request when i ordered the Motpsur Park one was that it requires a fire certificate to be allowed into our ground (Tommy Guthrie advised me of this) and presumably other English grounds...European legislation is not so stringent...basically the flag just has to be coated in some kind of fire proof solution.

Fulham for the cups

...First quote received:-

1) What are three popular most and practical sizes for manoeuvrability as

this will be held above the supporters heads, and possibly moved from side

to side?

There is no particular size as flags seem to be governed by the cost of how much can be clubbed together. However 2 practical  sizes are 15m  x 9m  or 10m  x 6m. (but you can have larger ie 20m x 30m)

2) I assume that the more complex the design, and the more colours the

greater the cost, can you advise a breakdown of such costings.

Actually this varies - if we digitally print,  then you can have as many colours as you like - it will not alter the cost as colour print is the same price as black print.. However the best value flags would be to have a combination of stock coloured fabric (off the roll) with digitally printed badges stitched on, for the complex work.

It is near impossible to offer a price until we roughly know what you may like on your crowd banner. - text ? artwork ?, badges  ? logo?

if you can offer any ideas then please let us know then we can give you a good idea of cost.  If you offer your idea to us we will then advise which is the best way to manufacture your proposed crowd banner.

To offer a rough idea a printed flag at 10m x 6m could cost approx £1500.00 where A simple black and white sewn flag with FFC could cost £650 - £700

All Prices plus VAT

3) It will have to be of a practical weight when manufactured to be carried

within the ground to and from the terrace to a storage area in the ground;

can you advise what the weights are for the three popular sizes.

For 15 x 9m =  approx 16kg   10m x 6m  = approx 7.5kg   20m x 30m  approx 70 kgs (fabric weighs 110 grams per sq metre)

4) Do you supply a storage/carry bag (canvas?) as standard, if not please

would you advise what extra cost this would be.

Yes we can make one,  price will be approx   £25 /  £35/  £50.00

5) Please advise shipping costs.

Small ones will be approx £25.00 larger one £40

6) Can I pay via paypal or via a cheque or do you have any other methods?

Cheque or Debit card - we charge a small fee for cc at 2.5% - All prices plus delivery and VAT

7) Will you require payment in full before production commences, or will a

part down payment be acceptable, with final payment prior to despatch?

We will be happy with 1/2 with order and balance on completion.

8) Please advise the validity of your quotation, as I have to raise funding

and I would appreciate at least 180 days.

We will honour our quotation for 6 months

9) Do you offer and warranty on the finished product, if not can you advise

if you offer an insurance package?

We do not offer any warranty or Insurance, Perhaps you could get an option on your household insurance?

10) Finally, can you give an indication of a realistic delivery lead time

for the largest banner/flag option.

based on the smaller sizes:

If the flag is all printed then 1 - 2 weeks

If sewn with printed badges 2 - 4 weeks

Thank you in anticipation of your early response.

...thanks Papa, sorry to be a pain, but just to add colour would you put the words thank you in red, and could you reduce both Fulham badges by about 10% - yes I know, I am a slave driver.. :54:

Its 2,3 or 4 for me. I am not sure we need 'THANK YOU' emblazened on it, I think the simpler the better.
