It seems that we are allowed to talk about wine, beer and various other spirits but if you mention gïnger beer then it automatically gets converted to " special one beer ".
There must be some very sensitive people out there.
P.S. This smiley only contains real ale and not the stuff that dare not speaketh its name.   082.gif
Finn and Corked Hat, you are forever part of the family.

Perhaps if G!nger beer was renamed 'Auburn' or 'Strawberry Blonde' beer it would be more acceptable?

...well I didn't know that - let's see special one - special one.

If this is the case I want to automatically change 'fat, bald, loudmouth know it all' to "big boned, folically challenged, expressive, erudite person"...

All kinds of them but most common are cherry beer and raspberry beer. And in our former colony the Congo they have an exquisite banana beer. Truly fabulous stuff :)

But what about special one bread then?

Indeed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_beer I was wrong though to allocate it to the Congo. It came from Rwanda (which was also Belgian as we got a "mandate" to govern it after WWI) ;-)

We also have a banana beer, here in Oxford. Tasty stuff, but I can't really drink more than one in a row.

In Australia, Root Beer has an entirely diifferent connotation :down_under:

So what was so bad about hops and malted barley?

.....might it also be politically dodgy to mention g***** beer, because it has a rhyming slang connotation with qu .........?
