Jol wants Russian hitman to extend Cottage stay

By talkSPORT | Monday, May 14, 2012

Fulham boss Martin Jol is confident the club can agree a deal to sign Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak on a permanent contract.

Pogrebnyak has impressed Jol during his short spell with the west London club and wasted no time settling into his new surroundings scoring five goals in just three games.

With Andy Johnson set to leave the club, Jol is keen to bolster his forward line and feels Pogrebnyak can become a big star in the Premier League.

Jol said: "Pog wants to stay. First we talked about one year, then two years and now three years so I'm sure he wants to stay."

Doubt he'd sign that particular deal. We're Premiership, not Conference!

2 years on 20k a year

Pretty sure he'll be on more than that as his stocks were high when he signed for Stuttgart, and that's the deal he's on atm, and he made a flying start here as our star striker.

He is NOT on £400 per week!!!

Give him three years. That way if it's not working out we can sell for a decent price.

3 years and then we can sell him after 2 if need be. Not sure about the wages, haven't enough experience to know what would be fair for his skills

Two years with angreement to extend depending on how next season goes.

Edwatch_Winston_Malone

Not sure about him, he doesn't appear to relish the lone striker role and I expect he will need a scoring rather than supporting partner upfront in a 442...

Yes, two years with an option for a third.

He is a free signing (effectively) and has got goals that were lacking from our last striker.

Add another top striker in the window and we have competition for spots and flexibility

General

Possibly could be because they're still higher then us and don't have dempsey making such a massive contribution to their team?

Realistically if he added his goals to evertons season where would they be, and without him where would we be? Stark contrast.

3 years 40k a week sounds about right to me. Keep him happy and he'll keep scoring ;))

Somebody must have pissed him off during our last 4 or 5 matches then.
