Signing players that have just been relegated isn't really our style though is it?

If a few of their players had been uninjured, i.e. Holden they wouldn't have got the results they had. However i do like to think we are becoming a club where we don't have to look over the relegated bargain bin.
Don't get me wrong I have no issues with it! We have never signed a player from a team newly relegated except DD.

I know, if they are quality doesn't matter where they are from, i don't care if they were signed from the lowest level of Czech football or the highest of English, if they can put it in the net then the Cottage is where they should play.

Would you not sign the likes of Hoilett and Holden if they were available?

If Dempsey goes, then yes. This club needs to keep their American quota.

I would snap your hand off, I am just pointing out we don't tend to go for these players so we probably won't this time either.

Definitely welcome him here. Bit weary of his injury though.

I think he's more of a box to box midfielder than a true Murphy replacement (Diarra's more of a Murphy type player IMO). Holden's got a good touch, passes well, but I think his stamina and workrate are his best attributes. I believe he lead the Premier League in successful tackles last year. A better Sidwell, when he's healthy.

Exactly how I view the players. Diarra will probably gradually take over Murphy's role next season (if Danny stays, that is) and we'll need to add some quality in midfield if we lose one of, or the worst case scenario: both, Dem's. A fit Holden certainly fits that bill and if he's got some sort of clause which would allow him to leave for a smallish fee it's worth a try without a doubt.

So we finally get the cripple AJ of the books and replace him with anouther one. Why? So many players we could go for, cant see the point in going for a sicknote.

Jonny Evans and Nigel De Jong have hampered Holden's career with reckless, injury-causing tackles.  He's already shown his quality in the Prem - fitness is a huge question though.  Recently he pledged his allegiance to Bolton, but who knows and Fulham would benefit from a fit Holden in the squad.

Can't see Bolton selling him since his value is next to nothing at the moment. If he returns to pre-injury form next season and the Wanderers don't bounce back up, then he'll go. Holden wants to pay back the club back for sticking by him through injuries (they extended his contract a couple seasons ago even after the cretin De Jong broke his ankle in a friendly).

My southern California friend is correct. Holden will want to repay the respect shown to him by Bolton.

And I really don't want any more Yanks at Craven Cottage, thanks.

I want the best players that can be enticed to come to the Cottage in black and white Yanks or not.

The guy had about hlalf a season where he was bgood, apart from that seen very little from him due to injuries, I'm not convinced.

Do you think we're getting rid of Sidwell?? Etuhu I can see going but Sidwell I thought might stay and fight for his place once fully fit!

Stuart Holden and Chong-Yong Lee are the reason that Bolton went down. Stuart Holden is superb, I do see this happening, especially if we're getting rid of Sidwell, Etuhu and probably Dembele too.

Sidwell will stay. Jol all but confirmed this with his lines about Dickson, he said something like "...we've also got Diarra and Sidwell there..."
