Oh my God...I've just realised with Murphys exit, who's going to take our penalties?

Diarra and/or the new striker(s)?

Have we seen Diarra take a corner or free kick? I don't think so.

Dembele ?
no no no I would not trust him to kick it hard enough to reach the back of the goal.
Anyway that would mean he would have to enter the 18 yard box and as we know he can't get over the invisable force field that is the white line.

Ruiz is a great penalty taker, ok ok I realize he failed vs Chelsea last year but nobody is perfect and he has a really good average actually.
Wherever there's a Costa Rican... there's peace.

He'd probably move the ball to the edge of the box and try a low hard shot into the far corner.

Each player gets 5 penalties in a training session and it's a process of elimination on highest success rate. That's what I would do!

Not Dempsey! I can't remember Murph ever missing one ever but Dempsey has missed some that cost us points and they stick in the memory.

Missing that one in injury time against Chelsea springs to mind...

Kasami won't do it unless Jol repays the fine

Swansea away too

I'd go for Ruiz..

1) He used to take them for Twente, and so is used to it

2) Getting a couple of goals on a plate will help mould his overall confidence

3) I can't imagine any of the others being any more reliable

I did see him take a Panenka/Pirlo one once though, and even though he scored you would not want him to do it in a normal match situation.

Pirlo gave a really good explanation for why he did his, but that was a unique circumstance.

Ruiz or Riise
Riise crossed my mind as well, but I'm not confident of his radar, whereas Ruiz gives me more confidence for some reason

Ruiz is decent I hear.

Would go with Riise or Diarra.
