Our former midfielder, Marcel Gecov, has - after a spell in Ghent where he was unable to get first team action (bizarre, since Ghent has been awful all season and need creative players) returned to Slavia Prague. Bad buy from Fulham I guess!

So?

Just some info for those who keep track of our former players. But alright, I won't post again.

Do not be so easily discouraged.  I have a what is gone is gone attitude but others thrive on history and statistics, so keep up the good work kid.

He didn't cost much. These things don't always work out.

I was being sarcastic. I thought this was relevant for a board which follows Fulham in depth and which has discussed Gecov at different occasions during his time at Fulham.

And thank you for that. I remember calls for Gecov to partner Kassami in previous darker days and he never got a look in. Looked more focused in warm ups than Kassami and the boots were always neat and tidy but maybe Jol does know a thing or two ..... he was certainly right about The Pog.
Anyway happy christmas in walloon.

I thought he played a really good game against Odense

Played really well in the Chelsea cup game and never really seen again.

Thought he was decent we let him go when we had lots of quality centre mids he would have more chance of game time now

I was actually just wondering about Gecov. Many people were wanting him to get games last season like Kasami this season.

I rather like being kept abreast of the exploits of former players. If threads like this are not to your taste, you can always ignore them without comment. That's what I do on the threads dealing with electronic devices, fantasy sports, and Mornington Crescent.

I really rated Marcel Gecov and was also quite disappointed when I saw that we got rid of him. I watched every single game of the under 21 championships and he thoroughly deserved his spot in the team of the tournament along side the likes of Ander Herrera and Thiago Alcantara.

Even in his games for Fulham he looked tidy, could win possession and play it to someone more technically gifted, in last seasons case, Danny Murphy. I've always thought he could be a very effective footballer and I hope his career does pick up, best of luck to him.

Fluidity of play is everything, the manager said to me
I'd no idea what he meant but nodded knowledgeably
Tactics are for clever men I just go and kick the ball
I also try to head it in but are stopped by defenders tall

I agree with the majority of the posters in this thread. It was very disappointing to see Gecov leave and he looked like a decent prospect during all of his appearances for Fulham. Despite the poor result against Odense, he ran the play and created neatly. I thought that he almost looked a little Murphy-ish during that match. He could really have come into his own this season with our lack of creative options. I wonder what went wrong?

Hope Gecov can find some success and fulfil his potential. Thanks for updating us, Mr. Sipwell  :021:
