I do remember his debut for Arsenal and people were talking about him as the next Viera. He impressed me, although he looked a little hot-headed. But that should come with experience.

We don't have anything to lose.

Vieira wasn't really known for being calm ;-)

if others have good first hand knowledge, not anecdotal then let them have their say

How many of us will have seen him often enough to have 'good first-hand knowledge'? Very few, surely.

Nor would it be the first time that a player has been branded as a poor signing by those who know little or nothing about him; Riether wasn't exactly welcomed by all when he arrived in the summer, I recall.

Hes only played around 15 senior games in his career so I doubt anyone has seen him enough to make an informed decision either way

STAY DENCH...

In the Enclosure

He looked to me as if he was going to keep Wolves up single handedly until he got injured.
Pleased that we have got him !

I can't argue with this signing. Being a graduate from Wengers academy you onow he can do the basics to a high standard. And he has something to prove. Either he does well and runs our midfield for 6 months and best case scenario we sign him permanently for compensation, or lose him because Arsenal want him back. Or worst case scenario he shows some aggression, toughening us up and gets a few suspensions, scaring a few opponents in the process. STAY DENCH

ToodlesMcToot

I have not seen this kid play. I know of him, but not even really enough to say anything about his quality. I'm sure that being with Arsenal for some time ensures that he knows how to play and that he's got a fair amount of talent.

At the same time, I could say the same thing about Kasami when he was signed. In fact, their first team experiences, in number, are almost exactly the same prior to joining Fulham.

So my question is, are we seriously counting on this kid to shore up our midfield? Can't be more than a depth signing, no?

Only time will tell on that. He's undoubtedly talented and brings some tenacity and muscle into the middle, something we are currently lacking.

Perhaps Jol can see certain situations in which to utilise him and if he impresses in training he may well shore up the midfield.

Good signing bringing in Frimpong but I was hoping we would sign Derek Boateng, am I right thinking he can play centre back? Seems like he will not be joining us this January

EJL

I'm guessing he won't be available for tomorrow.

I hope the lad doesn't make a bad pass or a mistimed tackle during his loan spell. Imagine what stick Jol will get if he does!

Dont worry, if he turns out to be a dog, you can point out that Jol has nothing to do with transfer decisions.
Congratulations on 1000 posts, Don.

I believe you just short changed him of 9000 posts, EJL!

Maybe the deal has or had fallen through so Frimpong was next on the list. Alternatively they could both be here come Feb 1st we'll just have to wait and see.

Boateng has been looking good at the ACN and getting plenty of game time so if he does still come he'll be match ready.

decent signing, if we don't want to pay over the odds for players in January, making loan signings to get us through until the end of the season makes the most sense to me. Only thing i am a little confused with, is that frimpong is a defensive minded player, where i think we need more creativity than solidarity. we got sidwell, baird, diarra for that. But still its better than nothing and adds to the depth of the squad. who knows he might have that fight that we need at this moment in time. dont think anyone can really critisize this deal, maybe question it. overall decent singing

He is out of contract in the summer so I guess if he does well we will have a good chance to sign him

Or he will go to qpr

I didn't know the lad wanted to play in the Championship next season.
Its not that I could and others couldn't.
Its that I did and others didn't.

Who said we were signing Boateng anyhow? I don't think anybody rumbled the Frimpong move.

The majority of the crap about potential signings are just that -- crap. I love it when the board surprises everyone.

As you rightly say there is nothing concrete but the link has been more solid than some. When asked Jol has never denied an interest but just refused to name players. It could be a case of trying to agree a deal with Dnipro and we wont hear anything until then.

Two separate cruciate ligament tears...and not that long ago.   Does anyone know if both injuries were to the same leg?  Maybe in this instance getting him on loan is not such a bad idea, huh?  The price was right.

According to the article below both legs were injured.

,,In January he joined Wolves, but having impressed initially during his loan spell, his stint was cut short when he received the exact same injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, but in the other leg."
